No, only with a 9x.
You could change the pcb with a mqx pcb. This should work but would cost anpother $30-$40.

Then you could use your dx6i

I hit a local parking beside a baseball field today. I love this little thing. It's so nice to just be able to toss it and my DX6i in the back seat of the truck and be flying in no time This thing has easily been the best RC purchase I have ever made!

I shot some flight video too, but my stupid self aimed the camera too low so most of the flight is out of the picture, lol. I need to get me a little 808 key chain cam and strap it to this little guy

For me, the main disadvantage of the v929 is that one can only apply so much rate on the ailleron or elevator before it automatically flips (not a problem if you are not into really high rates).
v929 parts are much less expensive, so one guess at a hybrid is to buy a v929 bnf (about US$40 shipped) and replace its board with an mQx board (and perhaps board mount). One can get an mQx board and mount for about US$40 several places on-line, so this "hybrid" that will run on a DSM2 radio will cost about US$80.

LATER: I am too slow. I just see now that somebody else above has already described this option.
There is also this thread that marries an mQx board with the smaller Walkera Ladybird booms, motors, props, etc. which is even smaller and less expensive (I just got the Walkera Ladybird booms, motors, props, etc. from Banggood for less than US$25):

Will only do Fast Forward Flight - Help!

Folks,

2 day old MQX.

Bound it to my DX7 yesterday, and it hovered pretty well.

Today, the front-right white blade does not want to spin when it is on the ground, and if I give it any throttle it just goes into a quick FFF with the nose down.

Trying to make it stop by using a little reverse elevator just flips it on its back.

I have a spare MLP4DSM transmitter, so tried binding it to that, with the same result.

No trim on either transmitter.

Everything seems to be connected OK, and the motors are turning the cogs OK.

Help!

Chris

Only thing I can think to try: try flying it indoors at really low rates.
Indoors will block wind, hopefully be more level ground and keep the temperature more steady (can affect gyros).
Low rates: then when you do things like a little reverse elevator, it will be really just a little.

Sometimes when I fly outdoors at the end of daylight, my mQx starts acting erratic (not sure why).
But then when I try to fly it indoors later, it acts fine.

Thanks, mate.

Indoors with the MLP4DSM at the low rate, and no change.

Two days old, and I can't use it

Cheers,

Chris

you might want to try troubleshooting by swapping out the motor etc with the parts on the boom across from it (if it's CW then with CW, or CCW with CCW). see if you can narrow down the problem that way.

maybe contact Horizon Hobby about it

also, when the mqx is on the ground not all the blades will spin at the same rate. only when the blades are up to speed do they all spin together in harmony

Do you guys have some kind of plane finder beeper when flying full fpv? Man this tiny thing must be hard to locate if you crash it.

Check to see if your Battery has moved. Had a flip over on a Landing and afterwards mine was almost un Flyable. Found that the Battery had move out a little ways. Causing the CG and Lateral Balance to be off. This made rthe AS3X System go a little nuts.

My current guess: as the sun sets, the temperature changes (drops), especially outdoors, which confuses the gyros.

Yes, may be during the winter but not in the middle of the summer at least where I am.

Where I am, it is not cold in the summer, but as the sun sets, the temperature does drop.
Yesterday, from 7pm to 9pm, the temperature dropped about 9 degrees F.

I do not fly after sunset in order to avoid tickets for " driving without lights".
Have a good one

Email sent yesterday.

The battery is also in the correct place, BTW.

It just refuses to do anything but immediate FFF, nose down
