What are you using for tooling? Also are you bulking with sand?

The tool coat was my own mix of graphite powder,aluminum powder,west 403 filler.
I did the tool coat till green then two layers of 3/4 glass then progressively up to 5.8 oz clothe. After about 5 or 6 layers I threw sand in along the edges of the fuse and kept going with glass and more sand etc. The sand pushes resin to the surface and every so often I would sprinkle dry sand in and watch it soak up resin. The last layer of sand I mixed was just moist really knowing it would be fine |

http://www.adtechplastics.com/pc-52-...-compound.aspx Two gallons of the stuff is 100$. Just called today for prices becuase I was afraid  Talking to the guy on the phone only a few layers behind the toolings of e glass is need and then some 7oz or so behind the dough. |

The amount of tool coat is not much but do you use that resin for the entire mould? Tool coat is brittle to some degree.

The tool coat is something different then the epoxy. I understand this is the stuff Adam uses. Its much harder and lasts longer....
The dough, is the same as sand but it is much lighter weight. Which is somewhat a concern with my mold because it going to be so large and bulky. |
