I screwed mine on. Just added two small squares of ply on the inside of the box wire area to anchor the other side of the screw. No glue but to that I could add some silicon.

Yeah, if those box areas are appropriate that helps! But I would still affix plates (glued) with captive nuts and use bolts.

Thought of the day:
this airplane is a jewel, and this great hobbyist is up for something LOUD! Check his plans here in the video.

4S seems too little voltage to me for an EDF this size...

+1. 4S Turnigy SK3 Fandrive - 3516-3300kv (rated to 55amps, has a wide 29mm mount and is know to be an out of balance motor at high rpms) on CS10 has a 175amps demand to develope (2x1.75kg) 3.5kg thrust outside of the tube; more likely down to 3.2kg in plane while likely running fairly hot in the plastic housing.

With the higher amps you'll need very good high mAh and C count batteries to handle the amps demand. E.g. the 5800 30C batteries put out max 174amps on a fresh charge but will LVC early in the flight forcing throttle managment. So you'd have to go up to like 6000 or 8000mAh batts with 40C or more which is not a common battery to meet similar flight times without high performance past 65% (or less) battery capacity.

The advantage is if it survives (Analucas said it died on the first flight and that he had to use a different shroud to get it to fit) it is a lighter setup even with two good 100-120 amp ESCs to handle the heat.

Superfly is there some reason why you want to go 4S?

Max grandissimo! Thanks for all that analysis. Me no, I am a total newcomer so I basically cheered about a project of a very keen contributor who publishes nice videos. I am somehow fascinated about buying a kit myself, so I am willing to get inspired, to copy other people's work and make my own special su-35.
Henrik is great, Peter is great, you are great, and maybe also others that I didn't hear so much about yet. You are making this hobby much more like a social thing, the laboratory time becomes secondary, it's like going to school here!
Me I don't really know why I should pick 4s. From my basic knowledge, I understand that the power requirement will ask for more Ampere with a lower Voltage.
So in principle it could be interesting to have a high Voltage setup, like perhaps 6s.
Thanks a lot for your keen overviews! You are bringing me up and up all the time with knowledge

By default it is 6S. And yes, more Volts (eg 6S) need less Amps for an equal total power compared to less Volts (eg 4S) and more Amps. So you definitely want 6S for this if you want it to perform up to its real counterparts abilities!!

As Pete said 6S by default. Any more or less adds to special considerations.

You are looking for a 2x1.5-1.8kg thrust setup that will drop .2kg or so once in the plane that keeps the amp demand around 60amps.

I'm slowly getting mine together, (I wound up with the flu 2 days after receiving it), and MAN! This thing looks sweeeeet. Russia sure knows how to build a fighter. Glad they never got to pissed at us.

Found an interesting build and flight here:

Freewing SU-35 what's in the box and pre-build (5 min 53 sec)

Freewing SU-35 Twin 70mm EDF Jet Flight #4 (4 min 12 sec)

The 10 blade Changesuns make it sound so much better than stock and the setup gives over a 1 to 1 thrust ratio.

Was posted awhile back and that setup gave really good thrust and sound. Unfortunately that plane/build has already been flown and crashed.
