Not sure. The hose on this one is central. Don't the HALP masks mount on one side?

Not quite an Su-35..... but I will set up the Benedini in the Su-35....
I will probably have to use a pair of 2" speakers, instead of a single, or pair, of 4".
But I am not sure WHERE yet! Maybe in the underbelly wiring channel area.

The sound set needs a new one made up. For a start, there is not enough 'roar' in the 'flight mode' section sound file. Ideally you would go and personally record the required sound of a turbine - or real jet - from startup to, taxiing, through takeoff, and then shutdown. A bit hard to get done! Could go and record a real Su..... LOL

Me 262 Benedini Turbine soundset (1 min 29 sec)

Crikey, I'm no expert. So long as it's recognisable as a jet pilot rooster by most people, I'm happy

A mate of mine saw a pic of mu Su, and for a brief moment, thought it was a real one - until he saw the zip ties holding the 'great white hope' Alamo onto the wing. And this guy is a recently retired USAF (Colonel) F-16 'Wild Weasel' driver!

(Maybe he wasn't wearing his glasses)

Cheers,

Dan.

FYI I emailed David and he wrote that he only sells to hobby shops, not to individuals (why then the sentence about "pre-ordering"?).

Apparently, the package will be available via a U.S. hobby shop eventually.

Cheers,
Henrik

Look here:

http://www.benedini.de/Home_E/Produc...roducts_e.html

Typically you would want:
- The TBS mini - that is the sound module
- The USB programming cable - not essential, but is if you want to make full use of all the TBS can do.
- The 2x40W Amp - but you can use any Amp from an electronics store or online
- Speakers - Prob 1x R10S 4" - basically any speaker suited to the Amps power - 1x4" is loud. 2x 2" (BF45) is still ok but not as loud.

I would get an Amp online. 1x 40W sort of thing would be fine. 30W.... 25W....
Speakers are tricky to buy as whether you see them or not, you don't really know how suited they will be until you try them, so you might end up with some that are useless for anything. It is safer to buy those above listed ones - costly, but at least you know they will work with it well.

It is not hard to set it up so you can shift the module/s from plane to plane. But if they need different sound sets you will need to reflash the required ones (minutes), via a PC - notebook at the field if you need to do that then.

I spent A$400 total, with 3x 4" R10S, 2X 2" BF45 (or was it 4 of them?), 1x 2x40W amp, 1x USB programming cable, 1x TBSmini (dont get a micro!).
I have 4 planes to use it in so far.

A cheaper option is the MrRCsound, which I have one for some other planes ($150 total), BUT it cannot do what the Benedini can so I am pretty sure it will never be able to do all the sounds required for a proper sounding turbine set. You need numerous sounds, and a few BIG ones (startup and shutdown), so it needs a lot of on-board memory to have decent samples.
But maybe Andrew (MrRCsound) knows more detail on how well any of his versions can do turbine....

BH bumped up the ARF price from 275 to 320. Shame, I was going to order one.

she's actually RoG between 35-40yrds (measured yesterday). She could easily get off sooner as my previous 25-30yrds statement, but it would be from me inducing more elevator on takeoff. 35-45yrds is perfect.

That's probably closer to my avg roll out but to the originl convo where, I don't even remember who, wasn't able to take off at all even with a length grass field.

All the talk about ROG TV or no TV, I've held my model by the mains and had the wife pitch either way at full throttle to see how much they can contribute to the pitch moment. They do have lot of authority which is likely whysome say don't take off with TV active.
But if they are and you still can't get the nose up I start thinking something more may be holdingit down.

There are a lot more 30E size models at the club this year, cause we may be losing our field, so they made extra effort at rolling and gulf greens quality runway. Will have to see how its in the spring.
