Were your batteries that cold too? I've had some lipos perform poorly when they were cold soaked. Maybe it got warmed up during the recharge?

Yeah.... probably cold bats but after landing they where the normal warm to touch so I expected the latter half of the flight to have normal performance that did not happen. I'm thinking denser colder air not being pulled through the fans. I also have FOD screens on mine so the denser air could make a difference with those attached. Maybe Max can throw some light on this?

It would be a struggle to fit one into the Su-35, as the speakers required for good sound are 4".
Or even 2x 2" would be difficult. Plus the Amp, which is about the same area as that module almost.
Though..... probably could fits bits here or there, somewhere....
I am putting a Benedini into my Me-262, but will check the Su-35 suitability then too.

I would drop it into a Euro. I think it could handle the weight better than the SU as its easier to land also since it floats right in. Although the ducts may limit the room to add the speakers.

They are a good performing fan - they do what the specs say.
You don't have to have contra-rotating, but it can't hurt.
They sound half way from plain 'leaf blower' fans (eg stock Su-35) to CS10 'more jet-like whoosh' sound.

I've got a couple of missiles left over from a Starmax F-16 that I might mod to look something like AA-10/R-27s. I wonder if magnets would hold them on?
Anyone done that before?

That's what I thought. Maybe a little CA would tack them on well enough for a trial, without causing too much damage if I wanted to remove them ...

Depends on the mags. I've used some with more than 10kg lift each (large motor rebuilds )

No great harm if one falls off in flight, so don't feel you need to go insane with them. If the missile's produce more than 1kg of drag, you're better off with them falling off!

I cut off my F-16 ones and left the rails on the wing, with intention to make some form of clips for them. Same for the drop tanks (or whatever they are), by adding mounts for clips/pins.
But I only had initial ideas and never got around to implementing any.
All methods have trade-offs between damage in a crash or knocking etc... or otherwise possibly coming off in flight.

A half hour of foam hacking and a bit of balsa later ... a couple of things that look a little bit like AA-10s
