The plug is caulked back in the mold. After that dries I will PVA it and mold the other half.

I'm still waiting to see what you've done with all the MDF dust you have to be creating. Your vacuum cleaner must be begging for mercy.

The fuse is caulked in place and the edges are sealed. Now for some PVA and fiberglass.

If it were red I'd lick it like a toffee apple! Nice stuff Dan.

I'm gathering your instructions in my head as I hope to do one myself soon now. Your shared instructions and progress shots make it look too cool not to try one!

It looks like Darth Vader's helmet. I applied one coat of tooling gel and after it cures I will do one more and then fiberglass.

Is the tooling gel viscous enough to stay in place on the vertical surfaces Dan?

I laid up the other half of the fuse and started a little earlier. It is now 2:15am instead of 6:30am and I am done. The tooling gel is just epoxy and graphite powder and it does run a little until the epoxy gels. If you need it to stay put a little better you can add colloidal silca and that will help. I will have a little video soon of the second layer of tooling gel so that will help.

I forgot something kind of important on this mold but it can be fixed. Pop quiz, what is it?

We have a winner. I realized it after the first layer of tooling gel was on. I think I will drill a few holes and use pins. Here is the mold trimmed up and about ready to go. It needs some extra trimming and wax. I must say it turned out perfect, using the thinner tooling gel lets out all of the air bubbles for a perfect finish.
