How is the DragonLink "V2" a lot better and easier to setup/use then RVOSD-5 ?

does the V2 have a lot of wires like the EagleTree OSD's ?

it was started yesterday for about ten minutes while I tested the discount code but if you missed it you will have to wait for the 25th

Dragon OSD V2 (not link) reduces wires as it is fed by PPM in instead of wires for every servo

v2 has more servo outputs, more logging memory and a few other tweaks over v1 IIRC

I haven't set up RVOSD but I'm not an EE and managed with DOSD, and DOSD is great value too

I would get the Dragon OSD v2, but I'm too hesitant of all the wiring mess. (too complicated, and I'm slow :-)

I've got ImmersionRC stuff, and its cake compared to RVOSD-5. :-)

Lexus, any top OSD in the current market has some wiring that can't be avoided:
- basic: power and gps. notice: placing the gps on osd would be a very bad idea !
- autopilot: input(s) from receiver, outputs to servo
- telemetry (optional): RSSI from receiver, current sensor, IMU. Again, placing the IMU on OSD, as the GPS, is a very bad idea. Worse, not having a choice to disable it, even if you trust more your stable plane, would be a no go reason for me.

As far as I know, none of the current market OSD succeeded to reduce the above wiring, and I don't see how can be done.
The only way would be to to have a single PPM wire between receiver and OSD instead multiple channels.

Immersion OSD is simple becuse it's a RTF solution, with some proprietary limitations, you can't change certain components, and, the most important, it is missing RTH, this is the main source of the mess, the fact you must insert the OSD between RC receiver and servos. Can't be done otherwise, sorry.
