Man talk about pricey tools... Carbon fiber shaft, sanding tool. Be sure to extend your pinkie finger when using it. LOL

I was temporarily all out of the solid gold rods so I had to settle for carbon fiber.

I tightened up the tolerances of the nose door a little.

falcon, what an inspiration. you make me wanna build one too but only a 150% or 175% version......
do you happen to have any special tool/s that you use to carve the rough shape or did you go straight to sanding?

Hi smkin,

Thanks, and yeah I would love to see you do a 175% one..

After the box was built I used the file second from the left alott!!! then got the basic shape useing the templates in the second pic. Then various sanding blocks from there to get it shaped up.

You used Ploy BP to fill the weave? What's that? Water based polyurethane? Are you glassing with water based polyurethane or Epoxy laminating resin? sorry if you already said.

Yeah, streight poly on the cloth then sand that then mix up baby powder and light weight spackle with some polyurithane and brush that on. Actualy I mixed in two things, baby powder and light weight spackle.

I think the BP stands for Baby Powder--great filler for fiberglass cloth. Light, sands easily, and smells great... Mix it into the polyurethane to thick milk consistency and paint on.
