I think open ducts will be fine... I ran open with my DS-94 HST in my hawk, now I have closed ducts with the Dynamax.

At full power it felt pretty much the same, the big differance with mine was at 1/2 stick or power off the open duct felt like the brakes were on. With closed it glides much better at 1/2 stick and no power......but yours may be different

yeah, there relaly isnt much options for ducting, im pretty much forced to go open duct, i dont think it would fair too well at only 65% fsa on the inlet, especially with 4' long tail pipes lol. but after some test flights, i could always try it to see, you never know, the inlets have a decent radious, it might work ok. i have about 70% fsa on my jhh sabre back in the day and it was a ball of fire in the air, just took a little to get going. something to consider for the future, as i hate the idea that i could suck something in like a servo wire, retract tube, dirt, rocks ect. perhaps ill while up some adapters, its something that could be installed at the field, and tested right there.

looks like im planning to fly it from rosamond dry lake bed (aka edewards), talked to my good friend tony, who is now the club president, he said theres a smoother patch to the north of the painted runway, so i guess we'll give that a try, shouldnt be too bad with 4.5" tires, i just dont want the retracts getting the crap beat out of them....

Sorry, Gents, but I'm going to have to ask this again. How did you achive the elegant curves in the side of the fuslage without stress-cracking the foam? Did you simply bend it by hand, roll it over a surface or did you apply a little heat?

I believe it was achieved by just old fashoined sanding, shaping and hotwire . If you go back to the start of the thread you can see where Falcon just started with "Huge" lol blocks of foam. I dont think any bending was done. I may be wrong though.

no huge blocks of foam really, just 1" thick slabs.

i pretty much just bent mine, remember, this thing is so long, those curves wernt too hard for the foam to do lol.

Yeah with contact glue aplyed to both pieces I started at one end and as soon as the pieces touch they are bonded, then when I got to the waist section were the big bend is just bend the foam to match the curve and touch them together.

Yeah she was a perdy' plane. Nut will continue the T-38 legacy though..: )

Man I have to get my building jueces flowing again..I have a project in my head I need to turn into reality for the next Vegas.
