well, its either going to be about a 7-8kw 120 or 2 100's. 90's would work but would be a little weak in the thrust department. were looking for 120-130mph, and good vertical, nothing crazy, but we plan on RTF weight of abut 22-24 lbs, so we reall need about 20 lbs of thrust minimum. this is a rediculus sized model....its going to take some power to push it at 130mph.

I wish I had more time and experience glassing etc.
Waiting to see how the Change Sun 120 checks out as a twin option. A twin Stu Sm100-45 set up is on the table for consideration as well as even a high power single 5" fan. Brent and I are keeping our options open but will probably have a firm fan selection in a month or so.

Scale inlets on this plane have an FSA of 6200 sq mm per inlet so just right for twin SM100's but 120mm fans would require a cheat on the inlet size or a cheater hole in the main gear bay somwere.

I am working on another project. What motor are you going to use on the 120 mm version. I am looking at the Turnigy 880 kV on 12 cell. I know of the HET 700 series that claims 15 lbs max. Knife Liddle was working on this but blew his Delux controller.

WOW.......Just freaking awesome......i may have to sell the A-10, Mig 29 and F-5.......to fund a big project like this......all they are doing is just hanging around anyway......
i will definitely watch this with great interest....
this might be an excuse to get a bigger truck to haul it in.......

Still takes me back a bit and I have been looking at it for over a week now and still amazed at the size. Next Ace in the Hole is gona be dooozy!! All of your BIG birds, plus these two T-38's.. they are going to have to open up more real estate for us.

Hmmmmmmmm, two 120mm fans that need 12 cells a piece......

yups. You gonna need a BUCKET LOAD OF BATTERIES!!!

22 cells is a small fortune in bats alone. When you factor in two HV esc's and all the servos that big boy needs + some nice retracts. WHEW! I'd have to sell ALL my planes to start a project like that!

Well, 120mm fan takes less power to do 10plds than a 90mm fan.

Might not need 12s x 2 if 20pds of push is what this calls for.

If you don't use a Lazy Boy as the pilot seat you might not need 20lbs
