so i got some more done last night. cut out bad sections of damamged wing, and replaced them with blocks of blue and pink foam, im going to shap them today.

then, i cut out a nice big hatch on top(on panel lines) and them re glued all of the cracks with resin and chopped C/F. im going to add some CF glass to the back side of all the weak areas that broke.

i also glued a new piece of brass tube in for the new pitot tube, in preperation for the remaining body work and glass work on the nose section.

atleast im making some progress still hoping to have it flying by christmas vacation..

CN, are you sticking with 90mm fans, or upsizing to 4inchers? Perhaps SMs, or knife littles's, Tam's or maybe JHH protos? I'd imagine the 4inchers will put out same thrust at lower kW; & you wont need to be full throttle all the time?

ifi go bigger fans, ill probably go 120's and leave the inner main gear doors off for extra air, and cut a few inches off my ducting, and have a semi ducted setup lol. the 100's flew andys nicely, but if im going to spend that much money, i want way more thrust. we'll see how it does on 90's once its up in the air and cleaned up. the gear on this model are huge, and a massive drag penalty, so i feel it will fly nicely on 90's. ill upgrade at some point most likely.

thanks eh.
ive been thinking about the re maiden, i think we should get with tony, and do it at the base. buttonwillow is plenty long, but the lakebed just offers so much safety, its hard to turn down, plus, #559 will return to edwards! only seems right

so probably the weekend after we get back, maybe dec 28 or 29.

just about done wrapin up aft fuse fixes, just a little body work left, i added balsa to the exposed foam edges around the new hatch, man, that is really going to be nice to have. no more crawling underneath to install packs and install wing while power systems are live and hot. ill be able to assemble it, and fly it numerous times and only take it apart once to get it home, or no times if i can borrow a trailer from Allen....hmmm....
dad, we need a trailer ahaha
