US vs Metric? I use them both, not so bad. And like one of the earlier posters said, whatever you are used to is the easiet to use.

But how cool is this T-38!!!!!!! all 3657.6mm of it!
I'm looking forward to the next sortie.

I reckon we should ditch the last vestiges of the Imperial system and the Metric system and swap over to Planck Units.

(You should get at least another half page out of that. )

WOW it's been years since I've heard of a Planck. University physics classes coming back to me now... hang on... just a minute... no. It's not coming back afterall.

Anyway, I suggest we change over to Metric time and Metric calendars. We'll have to change the orbit of the Earth and change the Earth cycles and seasons but what the hey, it's METRIC so it must we worth it!

All kidding aside it would be nice to settle on metric for parts and units of scientific measure. I'd even give in on "mileage" for cars. Of course IMHO, Nautical miles work far better for earth navigation for aircraft. Nautical miles were derived by angular surface measurement of the earth and early units of measure for maps, that's why they are different than any "other" mile. And based on personal experience, aviation that uses meters really sucks. Feet and nautical miles are way better - just fly to China or Russia for a demo and you won't want to try that trick back at home! Heck even Russia is, now, using feet in much of it's airspace.

I've done it many, many times and it works just fine.
I've never come across the Russians or Chinese using feet for vertical measurements.

Then we haven't been to the same places in Russia recently Russia has just adopted feet for RVSM ops in nearly the whole Eastern half of the country within the last six months. Cross the border into China and it's back to Meters. It's OK (just fine) - but I just think it could work better using feet as Russia has seen by partially adopting it these days.

Anyhow, that's my take on it. As far as T-38's and EDF's go, electrons are fortunately an area where we all use the same measurements

Andy when do you think your next set of flight will be with the higher voltage packs? And you are widening the thrust outlets? I figured you might have left them alone at the higher voltage for faster in flight efflux / speeds in flight? What would you say your FSA percentage will be on exhaust after the new exhaust tubes? I'm certain you have some of the best minds working with you on the fans (like Stu himself) so I was mostly just thinking aloud myself on efflux and in flight speeds - since you wanted more speed range based on the initial tests.

Very interested in the telemetry data to come as well.

i suggested opening up the tail pipes more for two reasons...one is...these are super long pipes....closing them to normal sizes can really hurt performance. ive tried normal sized exits on long pipes and it causes too much back presure. also....with andys flight speeds beeing waaay lower than the eflux....more eflux isnt really what he needs. he needs more push. the two extra cells and bigger pipes will make a large differance in flight for sure.
