It is with great regret that I post this.

I have to withdraw from the AZ Open.

An injured left foot and some other personal complications are obstacles that must be attended to. To George, Charlie, Dave, and everyone else, I wish you a great event. I hope to be healed and ready for the Blue Sky series, and whenever possible, I'll try to hit the Beat the Heat events too.

Finally got my new plane finished tonight. I was worried I wouldn't have it for the Open. Looking forward to flying with everyone again.

2 dinners and need advice

If you can add my wife Anne and me to the Saturday dinner list John, please do, and thanks for making the dinner available--it's going to be a great way to end the day of flying.

I'm going to be at Chandler Bowl tomorrow (Thursday) starting at something like 10 AM, and looking for other dlg fliers there.

My planes suffered minor damage during shipment here, and for one of them I need to buy some small drill bits and preferably some carbon fiber or metal sheet about 1/32" thick and less than an inch in triangular shape to replace or sister to an aileron horn. I can't seem to find a hardware store or hobby shop near Chandler. Any advice?

Many shipments in my Sportube haven't resulted in plane damage before, but this time FedEx even crunched in one of the top corners of the Sportube at the end with the wheels. Must have fallen from some height.

Great weather here, and sure looking like a great contest coming up. Sure appreciate the efforts of you guys putting it together,

Schnepf Farm entrance

The easiest way to get into the Schnepf Farm flying field is from Rittenhouse Road.

At the Combs Road stoplight take the dirt road that heads West, drive for a 1/4 mile or so and then make a right turn into the flying field.

(note change to West above)

Pilot's meeting at 08:30 Saturday and Sunday

First flight at 09:00 Saturday and Sunday

Circuit board material is also good for control horns. Get it from radio shack...
