I started with my wire harness.. Using the new 8 pin connectors.
![]() We are building two of these planes right now. So twice the fun. ![]() I did not have to open up the servo pockets at all to fit the KST wing servos. Will be moving into the flap linkage next. I was planning to use a different horn for the flaps, but I have to say I like how yours turned out. ![]() -Wayne |

John, I noticed something fundamentally different about your set up then mine. I got my heatshrink tubing at dedicated electricians store (Orvac) and my crimpers at Harbor Freight. Something tells me I got my priorities mixed up, and should have spent more on a quality tool and less on a rubber tube.

Usually only use the servo side as I solder the wing servo to the harness.

Once you get the right tool for crimping servo connectors, you will NEVER go back to soldering extensions again!
I like to buy my connectors in bulk from rcmicroflite.com You can even get them in different colors. I like to put red male connectors on battery packs, and red female connectors on the appropriate lead on power switches. You can never plug the switch in backwards again. Same thing with wing servos. i.e. all plugs on left wing are green, right wing are yellow. That helps make sure that when you put your wing on, the servos end up on the correct receiver port.Connectors Crimping tool |
