The engine was glued together and trimmed, then the basic assembly painted using both Acryl and enamel paints. The Pushrods were added using aluminum wire, then the exhaust stack were done with aluminum tubing.

The holes for the spark plugs were drilled next in preperation for adding the secondary ignition details. But first, the back side will be drilled and the intake manifolds added.

At this point we're getting close, so stay tuned, it won't be long now....

Got the last of the details on the engine using aluminum wire for the intake manifilds, plastic tubing for the spark plugs and soft insulated wire for the secondary leads. Once all the details were on the engine was fitted onto the mount.

With all the big details handled, and a dab of touch up here and there it was time to get the Rx in and the radio set up. At this point, she was ready to fly, less CG.

I had hoped that the battery would end up on CG, but as it turns out it needed go go all the way forward to get the model to ballance at 31%. The 2100 mah 2S battery was mounted on a lite ply tray suspended between the firewall and rear cabaqne support.

Hatch covers were made from .010 styrene to cover the access hatches for the servos and Rx at the rear and the battery up front. The covers were sprayed with Aluminum Metalizer to finish up the model.

As it stands, the Ag Cat tips the scales at 20 oz. w/ the 2100 2S battery. That puts the wing loading in at 6.15 oz./ sq. ft., so she should be a nice gentle flyer. Because the model is so short coupled I desided to go with a more forward CG then normal, and will adjust as needed once the test flights get underway -- hopefully on Friday morning, so stay tuned, this one is just about done.....

Outstanding, Pat! This looks like the real thing. It definitely will need some weathering when finished. A clean Ag-Cat just doesn't look proper.
