New competition for MCPX/Genius. Esky FBL 100 w servo driven tail and a 4-blader!

I have no ideas what these are, all I found out were that they were with a 3-axis gyro and that the 100 sized 2 blader has a servo driven tail. They are also going flybarless on 100s up to 500s. Rumor yea, so take it as such.

ESky makes a very nicely designed flybarless head, based on my experience with the HBCT. The electronics on that heli were complete crap, however. Plus, they have almost no market presence now.

I'm trying to find the link.

However, it makes sense. Regardless of what their market presence is, they sell out almost everything they make...yea they have a weird production schedule, but they continue to sell product. Regardless, anyone in the industry knows that if you're not making flybarless products with a 3-axis gyro, well you might as well be making tethered helis. So Esky obviously knows they need to models, so it would be novel to go one step ahead and make something like a belt tail driven 100 sixed heli. Now I think the belt (or torque tube or whatever) heli is probably inbetween a 100 and 120 sized, but if it is close to the 100 sized it is a first. And the scale 100 sized is a real cool idea as well. Plus like some other companies, maybe their quality will improve (though I never had an issues with their electroncs) and we'll have another great choice in micro helicopters.

I never had issues with their electronics before either, but the usually fairly reliable ESky servos break like old christmas tree lights in a strong wind. They just can't handle the extra stress no flybar puts on them. Marketing a flybarless heli with the same receiver and radio as an HBCP was a terrible idea. The torque of a 3 blade head doesn't go well with the old motor driven tail and the gyro sucks.

Lets Just give them a chance John, over the years a lot of people have flown E-Sky heli's quite happily and its been sad to see their decline in popularity along with the limited support from vendors - I hope they do well with this and its a change in fortunes for them.

Regards David

I started with ESky helis and thought they were excellent values for the money. But, that HBCT was just ridiculous; a real mish-mash. It has a very will designed, flapping hing head, which you usually pay a nice premium for; a very nice fuselage and pretty decent frame. Then it has all that junk electronics and old brushed motors.

I'd love to see them put out a competitive product with some vendor support again. But, I'll wait and see this time.
