The komet (Jetpower 2012) some posts above is build from Peter Maissinger.
He lives in czech and owns a flying field. And he builds fine models, Focke Wulf Flitzer, Heinkel Salamander and the Komet.

I like flying komets, they are fantastic flying models.

Here is a short and bad coloured video of the 2nd flight of my komet.
The wingspan is about 52inch.

Hi all, very nice

Pascal, no just a very thorough cleaning of everything (fuse, polyester film on wings) with alcohol to take off any grease, fingeprints, dust etc.

I did not try anything stronger (like acetone) as I suspect it will ruin the finish. And no, no sanding of any type.

Do note one thing: I did not remove the original markings on the wing !! I just painted the stripes/camo around them, and later added a clearcoat on top.

I suspect pulling the original markings of the wing is probably not a great idea ...

4000 or 5000 Mha 4 cell 40 c battery.
Sometime I use 2x 4000 Mha in paralel for real long flights.
Not much different in flying because of the extra weight.
and 8x8 prop.

Tryed 6 cell and 6,5x6,5 and 7x7, but then it sound like it go berserk.
So 4 cell and 8x8 is my normal set up.

Thats it.

Its pretty fast. :, my motor is going 3x the rpm as yours.

Kv is the rpm Pr volt. 580 yours and 1900.for mine.




on 6 cell

Got one for Christmas. Was a little nervous that it would be twitchy but after TO and the initial trim, went back to high rates (+/- 1" on ailerons, 3/4 up/dn elevator) and it was still tame. Had CG at the 6.25" mark and needed a bit of up after TO but seemed good in fight so might increase the reflex another 1/16th.

Used a 5045-500 on 6s and seemed OK but not overly fast. Will try different props next outing and a lighter battery then maybe put in the SK3 1900kv I have sitting around to speed things up a bit.

Looked great inflight although it was solid overcast and 46º so didn't spend much time admiring it.

Anyway, good to be part of the "club"
