Steve,

Nice flight, looks as if you have got it pretty much dialed in.
Its hard to see on a video but it looked to be leaning left, perhaps you could try reducing the 3deg neutral roll, its what I did on mine.

Hi Chas

I found the model was pulling to the right, which I think was due to too much right thrust, I have reduced the right Thrust now so hopefully that will improve and I can reduce the roll trim as well.

Steve,
Lovely stuff, some cracking take off's ...1mm shims, that's a lot. They should spin up fine without anything under at all? have you rounded the lower LE edge of the blades?

Have you seen Bill's video on how he set up his right thrust? I'm sure he will post it, its a good couple of vids

Regards

Rich

Hi Rich

I have seen Bills vid on the thrust lines and I did do the same and she was pulling straight after I ajusted the thrust line. However in the flights I ended up adding left trim on the rudder so I have reduced the right thrust. Will see how it goes this weekend.

I have rounded the front under edge of the blade. the blades span well with the 0.4mm it just took a little longer to get them spinning. With the 1.00 mm I didnt even spin them by hand they just span up really quickly on there own and gave a much shorter take off run.

Now I have pretty well trimmed out I may try reducing, but to be honest the lift the blades gave is amazing when landing she just floated and didn't really want to come down.

My dad didn't get the landing on vid as I forgot to tell him I was coming in, but she floated in and the roll out has been less than 3 ft each time

More vids hopefully with landing but could be a week or 2 as my camera man (dad) is off on hols...

Regards Steve

Hi Rich

I have re-checked the hand angle and it is spot on 20 degrees.
Neautral Tilt back is 11 degrees.

She sits dead level when hanging from the balance point shown on the plan. (Hole drilled in mast to be certain).

Total al up weight is bang on 4lbs with the 4s 2200 li po.

Weather is looking good for tomorrow so should get more air time.

Steve : I had the same results you had on the ground and take off the thrust helped but I too had to put in left trim so I removed the thrust and was happier with the flight handling.

Hi Bill

I have had a few more flights over the weekend and as you say she definatley handles better with the reduced right thrust.

I now have 1 degree right thrust and the left roll has reduced to 2 degrees.

Hi All

I have had quite a few flights with the Panther now and have been experimenting. I am quite confident with it's handling now to throw it around at low level. And yes hopefully will get a decent vid of this.

I have moved the CG back 10 mm it hasn't had a major effect although I would say it's easier to make very flat turns now. I have also reduced the blade shim to 0.6 mm and the blades spin up fine. I have flown quite a few days in absolutley flat calm conditions and take offs are very predictable after some slow taxing.
