Mini-HowTo
DIY Cascade Tail Rotor for AH-64 Apache (450 size)

The 4 blade tail rotor from cncheli works OK, but has some build quality and design issues.

I fabricated a Cascade tail rotor for a more scale look for my Apache, using stock
TREX 450 parts, and a HPI Racing Shock Shaft.

Remove the metal gear from a stock tail rotor shaft assembly.
Thoroughly clean the new 3mm shaft.
Use red Loctite 271, to glue the gear onto the 3mm shaft and let it set for 24 hours.

Cut the 3mm shaft to a length of 60mm.

Thanks to SuperHornet for his Multi Blade Tail Do-It-Yourself guide.

To bad they don't make those swept tip scale blades for the 500 size, or at least I have not been able to find them. Nice build BT

Thanks for the link, I have seen them before, the only thing is that according to the weight on their site, a pair of blades weighting 220 grams a pair... that's 110 grams per blade...

the scale blades I have now are 65 to 70 grams a blade, so they're way heavier... I do like the look but what's keeping me back is that extra weight....

To complete this assembly I also used:
2 - M2x12 mm socket collar screws (H25125)
2 - Linkage rod(A) x 2(Φ1.3x9mm) (HS1119)
2 - Stainless Steel Linkage Balls (HS1155)

Assemble two ball links with a 1.3x9mm rod
Install a linkage ball into one of the ball links
Insert the M2x12mm collar screw as shown.

Attach the linkage assembly as shown
