Spektrum receiver on glass fiber fuse-wing carbon sailplane
I've searched the forum in many ways but I can't find an answer:
Can I use a Spektrum receiver (AR6200 /AR7000) on a sailplane with glass fiber fuse, but carbon wing? I want to buy an F5B/F - Orion 2.4 E-Carbon, and want to use my AR6200 /AR7000 receivers, without exposing the wires trough holes (if possible). Vendor claims "The Fuselage is 2.4ghz friendly", but I don't know if the wing may interfere somehow with the spektrum signal. Thanks in advance, |

Carbon wings will shadow antenna if it is located in fuselage mid-section. Try to locate antenna further away from mid-section.
If you don't want to take a chance, place a satellite on left upper wing and another satellite on right under wing. If you don't want to puncture holes on fuse, use 72MHz or other VHF bands. I have 40.735 Hitec/Futaba module and receiver in For Sale forum. PM me if interested. You can ask other pilots who are using 2.4 in this glider. Spektrum is known for brown-out. It is advisable to use separate battery for receiver. |
