I need to get the feeler gauges. they look useful for checking the needles gap too. the hall sensor, doesn't it has 2 screws to hold them in position, to prevent it from moving?

My NGH's rpm seems improved after I used a smaller spiner. Now it idles from at the top of the 2000 ranch. Up to 9500rpm is still fine, but above that, it will quit. I adjust the hsn either direction about 1/4 turns from the 2 turns out, but didn't seem to help, it will quit ealier when I closed about 1/2 turns. Might be I need to run in longer to have a better high end, I remember it wasn't able to make it over 5500rpm in the beginning.

I exchanged the muffler with an OS .46 stock muffler, it makes the engine much quieter, much easier to bear.

By all likelihood the ignition advance is properly adjusted. But if it can be adjusted and needs to be, the holding screws are in slots (not round holes).

You need to loosen the screws, move the holding plate and then re-tighten them.

The top of the 2K range is a bit high.

after further run in, idle at 2500 till 6000 is smooth and stable. Above 6500 is not nice but doesn't die. it starts every time, just need to prime plenty.

OK, I will look at the hall sensor to see if I could mess up anything or not.

Perhaps the low-speed needle is set a bit too lean.

Try opening it of a turn and see if it improves the running quality. And also if it can hot-start with no priming, or just a little.

Opened up 1/4 turn LSN, resulted huge improvement. idle 2200, Carb intake fully open reached 9200rpm, whole ranch really smooth and stable, run like a real good engine. adjusting the HSN 2clicks leaner kills the engine. riches it 2 kicks made no difference. now LSN 7 turns out, HSN 2 turns and 2clicks out.

Kentli if you could retard the timing and post the experience i could know if i have to advance mine again. I have the pickup rotated as much as possible in rotation direction. Just loosen the screws a little and it can be moved. My idle seems quite good.

hot start is not possible, but could start with less prime.

I feel that this engine needs many many hours of break in.

Well I am wondering if you have setup the engine wrong somehow.
First is the carb is different. Idle is about 1/2 open on the carb. I tried getting it to close in the past and it didn't work right when I did that. The default low speed needle setting worked for me on several different engines, not just my own either. The high speed seems to be about right at 1.5 turns out. I start at about two and work my way in while fine tuning it.

The engine spits fuel at low speed so it appears to be too rich, when in fact it isn't. The engine runs well with props you would normally use on a .60 or 10cc engine. So using a 11x7 or 11x8 prop works well on it.

The pump may not be pumping enough fuel to the engine, which would explain you not being able to lean it out more. So you may need the larger fittings for the pump pressure pulses on the pump side of the pump/regulator. Of course there should not be any air bubbles going into the pump from the fuel tank.

I am using 11*6 APC, idle is 1/3 open at the Carb at about 2500rpm. how to make the fittings larger for the pump? what are the fittings of the pump?
