Keep dreaming.
Highly swept, high aspect, foam wings, are not suitable for super go fast RC turbine planes. Too much flex, twist, and flutter. Maybe a tiny little turbine just to push it around but not much point in it. ian |

That is, by comparison a very low aspect swept wing (like some full scale jets). I was very specific about the wording of the problem. High aspect (long and thin), highly swept wings, have a problem going very fast. People have been trying to overcome it for decades with slope gliders yet they still twist and flutter. It's due to the effects of spanwise flow, which usually requires building some washout into the airfoil (lower angle of attack at the tips than root). Washout causes the wing to twist when you go very fast, and any wing that wants to twist, will usually flutter at some speed. Also, it's much harder to reinforce the whole wing, when you can't run spars from tip to tip through the center, due to the sweep. If we were talking a composite construction, then could probably pull it off, but this is EPO. ian |

he was able to hold and launch it from near the CG, but also looked sort of like he was doing it by his finger tips so I'd very much like to see what there is to hold onto down there. ian |
