just throw the plane and pull your hand down to avoid prop

better launch without firework weight

Clouds are cool. Looks like prop could use a little balancing, and maybe consider
moving your CG back. Appears that you're carrying a tremendous amount of up elevator trim.

X8 wing ER9x / Eagletree settings

Can someone PLEASE help me? Do someone here have a X8 with ER9x / Eagletree setup that works? Can you please give me your settings? I struggle with the RTH / failsafe settings... Can't I put the RTH on the Throttle cut switch? How do you program your OSD switch?

flat ribbon cable cost around 0.50$ per meter in local electric parts store.
they have it in 20 lines by 200meters, and cut to your need,
then you separate only as much lines as you need (for fpv tx 2x +, 2x -, 1x video, 1x audio = 6 lines total, and for rx side, 2x +, 2x -, 9 ch x1, rssi x1 = 14 lines total)
and its very very thin, under 1mm i believe, so no problems if you stick it outside on your wing,
if you like it, and test fly it ok, than you can think about making a canal for it in wing...
but I like to keep if this way, if I sell the plane, that it can be converted to classical way of installation

whole setup is listed under second video in my post a few posts up
(it's rangelink, works better than dragonlink, my friend has it and he is angry because he had payed more for his LRS than me )

2 henlo: cg is at rear of two finger holes, 5mm +/- does not matter
(sometimes I fly without a gopro in the nose, and the plane and sticks don't feel it)

Shielded Cable source

Anybody have any idea where I can get 4-conductor shielded cable (I need a small diameter outer casing - preferably less than 4mm)

Thanks Ian!

Have a look at these - ore terminated ribbon cable with individual plugs. Year them of the cable, ca glue the header in the pin config you want, an off you go... They rock.... http://bit.ly/SlQ0yg

Te only real competitor to the X8 I have seen under development has been Range Videos RVjet. Its now in production and this video demonstrates the wing toss method very successfully ! I think its looks a real winner..

Security install cable, or audio mic cables.

It's not the same type of plane or the same type of launch. That's just an off center backhand
launch. He didn't rotate at all. It's easier on a plank because the CG is only a 2-3 inches
behind the leading edge of the wing so it's easier to support the weight of the plane from there.
On the X8, the CG is 8-9 inches back, so loaded up it's trying to twist itself out of your grip.
If you had your X8 together with gear in it, you'd see what I mean by simply trying to hold it up
level from that location.

The discus launch Opt is describing (which I've seen used on other smaller wings)
starts with the far wing tip resting on the ground behind you. Throttle up, and swing the plane
around about 90 degrees (mostly powering itself, rather you pulling it forward) and release
as it points the launch direction.
