The only time (extremely rare) when this might be a problem is if you've gone vertical, shut the motor off at the zero gravity point and the plane does a tail slide. Then the blades can go towards the body and if you crank the motor on before the X8 flips over to point its nose down (and wind pushes the blades back), the blades could whack the body.

What is extremely important is that you have a prop-stopper to prevent
a blade from folding back past the center line. If it does, it will not swing open
when the motor starts and the severe imbalance will literally rip the
motor from the plane.

What is a prop stopper? Never heard of it. Who sells?
Thanks!

Many sources if you search but here's an example http://www.getfpv.com/accessories-27/accessories.html
It prevents the blades from folding back over center.
I've made em myself out of sheet metal, and even old cut up credit cards.

I just ordered a X8 and I am now checking for the electronics...
I'm wondering if I could use a e-flite 25 as Motor... is has very similar Specs of the Hacker A-30
http://www.e-fliterc.com/Products/De...odID=EFLM4025A

I got both the E-Flite 25 and an E-flite 60A ESC... would those work well?

If I understood it right, some people said that a CG a few mm in front of the recommended CG provides more stability and prevents stalling.

Also, is this the Hitec HS-485HB Deluxe servo 4.8kg/45g/0.22sec too big of a Servo? I have a few of it hanging at home.

Sounds like a great combo to me.

CG is pretty forgiving on the X8. Start at the recommended point (rear edge of the finger holds) and go from there. If you click 'Thread Tools' at the top of this page and then 'View all attachments from this thread', you'll see a few images of exactly where the CG should be. It's worth skimming through this entire thread, however daunting that might seem.
