You can wait for a 12*8*3 to get instock or get a 13*8*3 and trim it down..

Well define stupid, I know it is not scale but what are the other options? The two bladers are not scale either. The master air screws do draw a ton of amps.

Merlin, going from FWIW.. 3 blade hobby lobby on 3s drew almost 500 watts on my Spitfire. On the mas 11*7 gas prop, I had to go to 4s to get the same amp draw and on 3s it is around 350 watts. The gas prop needs to turn faster to load the motor to the same degree. My Windrider Hurricane uses the same motor and same mas prop. 3s is scale-ish, 4s is quite a bit more exciting.

Only Stupid from a scale point of view Indy. 2 bladers are for toy planes so they are are scale on anything.

Jim
I used the HL 9.5x10x4 on my P-47. It was over 600 watts and over 50 AMPs to do it. A pitch change got to a more reasonable 450W at 40 something amps.
These HL scale props do not like real high RPMs and if the hub develops a crack in the retaining pin area it will shed a blade fast. They would be OK on this plane with it's stock Motor.

Yeah those hobbylobby props are real nice but they are never in stock as well! Frustrating stuff!

If the two bladers work better for our planes from an amp and speed point of view what advantage do the 4 bladers and 3 bladers give to the full size planes?

Greater torque. ie ability to better accelerate a heavier plane than say a 2 blader.

Don't have the Corsair but have the Durafly P-47. I upgraded the motor to the NTM 3536 910kv (with optional accessory pack) and it was a straight plug in except for enlarging the hole in the cowl by a couple of mm.

I fly this motor with a two bladed 12 x 8 SF prop which pulls 33 amps. A little marginal on a 35 amp ESC but I have an external BEC wired in. With this setup I can go unlimited vertical on 3S. Much better than the stock setup which is a little pedestrian. The two bladed prop isn't scale but can't tell with it in the air and I'd much rather a more efficient/powerful prop that doesn't break as easily.

My friend gave me a 12x8x2E APC but I did not have a way to get it on at the field. How did you get (the even thinner) SF on your plane Brett?

Haven't finished putting it together yet, but did paint up a Pappy tribute.

Need to paint some more lines on the canopy and weather still.

The NTM accessory pack spinner fits it easily. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ry%5FPack.html

I know this thread is full of flight pics, but, I just couldnt resist. This bird has turned into one of my favorites and always goes to the field with me. These pics were taken at Jax RC , one of our local club fields.
