Hey Dave, You may want to get a Vimeo account.

For what it's worth, I used colored packing tape that is sold at hobby shops which on its own does not stick very well to the pink fan fold. However with a hanger 9 iron set on "2" it bonds the tape to the foam nicely.

My first 2 airplanes were monocoted with a regular iron for clothes. Were talking 1971'ish here.

Dave,
I am finishing up another wing for Josh's FPV ride.
Then I want to build a slo-night flyer wing.
I have the stryker for high speed night flying.

I bought a roll of black & white checkerboard monocote some time ago for a project that never got off the ground (pun intended). I think I may have a use for it now!

Hey Tim,
I will do it for sure... This plane is now on 72MHZ because it actually gets better range than 2.4

But the other reason is Josh and I want to fly together and my video is on 2.4

I look forward to seeing you and the rest of the gang at SEFF.

Mark,
About how much reflex do you have in the elevons? I'am about ready to maiden my wing as soon as the weather provides a windoiw of opportunity. I should have looked at yours when we where at he patch but I was having too much fun!
Regards,
Joel

reflex is probably 1/4" to 3/8" up at the trailing edge of the elevon.
It varies per build. (and where the CG comes in)
Tony G. uses 1300 MAH batteries and adds lead.
2000-2200 are perfect tho.
Good luck!
Post up some pics if possible.

My effort,

This is how my effort at this wing turned out.

Power is by a Heads Up RC 2836-11 motor
GWS 9x5DD prop.
3s1p 2200 LiPO

It climbs well and flies wonderfully and requires about 60% power for level flight. It can loop in it own length at that setting from level flight, but I find my self flying it at around 80-100% most of the time (few more watts would be nice). I just love how it slows down and remains completely controllable. Flying low, slow, and close in is just too much fun.

bottom of wing is painted "stealth black" as the blue foam disappeared against the sky.

Everyone who sees it fly wants one. I need to cut out 2 "kits" by my clubs meeting this Tuesday and loan out the templates and provide 3 sheets of foam for a 3rd. And while I am at it build a 2nd one for myself. This is definitely a keeper and like my Radian, a plane I see my self taking along no matter what else I am flying, just because I enjoy it so much.

Thank you Mark for the great design and build thread.

Before you give it a free flight toss, hold it above your head and run with it to see what the wing wants to do. Mine wanted to go nose down fast with the elevons at "neutral". With about 3/8 inch up on the elevons it floats really nice. once you start flying this, your other planes might start collecting dust like mine are
