I don't think EPP will do that, however. I may have to settle for external lights....again
This my E-foamies EPP Extra lit up from the inside. I'm hoping that I can do something like this with this airframe. I want something that flys a little bigger with internal LED's. It's so much easier on the eyes with the LEDs inside.

I think we need a test of the the Welders and several others such as Quick Grip from Beacon Adhesives (made for outdoor use) on some scrap EPP and see if any last longer and stay flexible.

Have any of you noticed the same?

I would like to see more lifespan on the glue we use.

Maybe I need to crash more and these foamies wont last so long??

Joe
yeah, I have foamies less then a year old and it seems that when it turns yellow, it does get a little brittle

I had that same discussion with theKM <arron> a few weeks ago. His view was very simple.... "You are not flying nearly low or hard enough, if that chassis lasts that long".

Glue Options
House Hold Goop
E 6000

Both are simular to Welder but a little thicker, not depron of EPS safe.

UHU Por
UHU Creativ
Beacon's FOAM TAC
Ulitimate RC Foam Glue <URCFG>

These are all Depron "friendly" products, to thin for hinging IMO

Hmmm.. I've got a Hobbywing Platinum Pro 40 amp lying in a box. I thought the claimed 500 watts on the recommended motor might be a bit much for a 40a?

I suppose at most 500 watts would be at a bit less than 12.3 volts with drop... so 41-42 amps peak. Sweet, I'm gonna forget the new ESC and order those Savox servos!

That looks really cool. Those look like larger single LED's as opposed to the hobbyking LED strips. Is that correct?

I was thinking of just stuffing some hobbyking LED strips inside mine.

Is the root of the wing (on this plane) open to allow access to stuff LED's out to the tip?

Just ordered 4x SH-0257MGs. Anybody get a ship notice on the plane yet? I got an email saying mine was processing last evening.

Yeah, that was before the days of LED strips. It was just a nav light package with a few extra red and green LEDs. I would like to go with the strips inside this time. They're so much easier and brighter. They might be a little harder to get in there though, and the light coming from the Leds is more directional.

Not yet.

I don't know if this thread will be the official thread for it or not.

Hey Tom, did you start this thread at the request of 3DHS or are they planning on starting their own "official" thread?

That looks great! I recently built a foamy with LED strips on the outside and it's painful at night.

I should probably order some servos.
