I didn't take pics when I did the 48" epp, it now has over 200 flights with the mode and never a problem with the mount, the gear has been rebent many times but is still fine. I did take pics however of basically the same mod that I did on the 40 epp, only I used two bolts on the 48".

I guess I can accept the bending, but I'll probably reinforce the box after reading all of this.

Has anyone actually had the gear wires spread so far apart they blew out the sides of the box? A wire soldered high to both wires would prevent this, but then again almost all of the force is coming from the front and not the sides.

Also - (per earlier) thoughts on running the 13x6.5 prop with the 3S batteries? Does it give more power than the 14x7?

this is a very easy plane to land, come in with a tiny bit of power and cut a foot off the ground and flare. I like to say, fly it to the ground not into the ground

Hmm, it seems they are making changes on each batch of these. Mine already had a landing gear wedge in the kit.

I've just force fit the gear in for now. Will likely glue in with some PU over night.

Other than that, I think I ready for maiden! Got the A9 all programmed up, everything mounted. CG checked. Throws triple checked.

Just need to remember to pack a trash bag in case everything goes wrong!

they always came with the wedge, I just thought a solid one would be better to drill through.

do not bring a trash bag, it is a bad luck omen, trust me. The one day I thought...you know I should have a trash bag in the car, just in case....I totaled a plane

A couple of photos from today.

A small puzzle: Am I hand launching the plane or am I hand catching it?

I'm guessing you are hand-catching based on the direction you are pointing

looking at the grass in the area you fly IŽd say youŽre catching it, otherwhise you shouldnŽt be able to "land" it without bending the gear
so I guess it is a catch, ....at least, I would land it this way if I had no adequate surface to land the usual way

I've had my 48" in the box for some time now. I finally built it last night and just finished a test flight this morning.

Great airplane.

I have lots of room out here in the country so I get so step out my shop door and fly.

Awesome.
