Can anyone recommend a good FPV system for use in the US?

@ ferdous

I think that board came out about 3 years ago.

Here's a link to SparkFun who is still selling that board. It appears to be a little cheaper than the one you linked to so that may be an added bonus for you!

They've got some of the specs on their site as well as links to some other information.

I can't decide if I should start with a multicopter (replace my multiwii board) or put it in the old easy star.

I loaded the latest firmware from the mission planner last night and have been playing with it at my desk. It was able to pickup 7 satellites in my house, Its a really impressive board I can't wait to get it flying! I should get it mounted and ready to fly something by this weekend

Thatís definitely a real oddball configuration. You might be able to modify the standard X quad code to make it work. Looks to me like you will loose a lot of lifting efficiency with those tilted motors. I really donít see any advantage to that configuration.

I think that a better mane would be a V-tail quad. Thatís what it looks like to me.

Has anyone compared the APM2 to other controllers in a quad chopper?

@RC Man I just swapped my multiwii board (crius se) with the APM2.

These are my first impressions from flying one pack in a small space.

The APM works very well right out of the box on my quad.

I still want to try tuning it a little because I felt that it overcorrected slightly after a big movement but it was totally acceptable considering how stable it is around level.

One more nice thing is that arducopter has you start tuning/trimming directly in auto level mode, Multiwii you start in acro then trim, then repeat in stability.

I might start a thread about it after I get some tuning done or just post some more impressions in here. Lots of interesting differences between multiwii and arducopter.

Looking forward to a build log. I have experience with quadrino, Mikrokopter, KK+, Eagle Tree and other enterprise autopilots but would really like to see a build log for arducopter that covers the hardware setup and the groundstation software.

I got my quad flying yesterday and started tuning. I really like all the tools they give you to get it tuned. With only a couple of flights I have the GPS Loiter mode working very well.

What I need is some calm weather but this spring has been very windy in this part of the country and the forecast is not good for today.

I got to do a little more flying with my quad. I tried the RTL (return to home location) and it worked very well with the default setting. One time it was off my 20 feet but all the other times it was right on.

I just got my telemetry working but have not flown it. so now I can log the flights and play them back.

Has anyone had experience with the compass calibration? What is the best method to use?

Hey Guys,

I'm new to this part of the hobby. How does this deal with airspeed for a fixed wing? Is there a separate module for that?
