Which motor/Prop for HobbyKing FPV-UAV Composite 1.66m V2
I would like to stick with 3S or 4S. I am looking for quality and not cost. I have been looking at the following with a 9X7X3 prop in mind:
Cobra C-2820/8, /10, /12, /14

I'm in the same boat . I have just completed my first FPV plane/system and during the process I bought one of the HK Long range 168 to use for my second and more serious equipment .
There are plenty of well described videos on Youtube re this plane so you should find all the info you are looking for .

The good motors can fail too but I think the quality control from some of the more reputable brands is worth the extra cash.
The way I like to start working it out is by getting the weight / approx weight of the plane then stick with your 9" prop cause you cant go much bigger on the SW.
Then you need to check with the motor specs as to what will give you around 1.5kg thrust with your prop.
On my Skywalker I used a Hyperion 3020-10 motor on 4cell which go for around $100
My ESC was a CastleCreation IceLite 75A which was about the same price as the motor.
Straight up I knew that I would have more than enough power and my ESC should never fail/overheat.
That heavy brick of a plane leaped out of my hand on full throttle!!
