What can I do with Pitch Lock in the PC app is to manually preset pitch of the gimbal while connected to PC.

Also, today I found out that the board probably does not like cold weather. It was like -3 C and after a short flying - testing gimbal, the board got mad. It started with drift, so I landed, then I could not even lift off because it would flip instantly. I did reconnect the power because I thought it needs to get restarted after it got a new temperature. But it did not help. At home after about 30 minutes it works again as normal.
I have the same symptom.
Aileron trim and Elevator trim are changing more than 7 ~ 8 clicks by temperature , today I have 10 F outside in Boston area.
This is not negligible.....

I2C ESC with FF

Attempted to use I2C ESC, but the result was not good.
Response was very slow...

There are 3 pads on the PCB, G (ground), D (Data), and C (clock), and
I2C addresses are 0x52, 54, 56 and 58.

I am not sure that FF handles other address, or not

The board worked fine with PWM ESCs.
Having replaced with I2C ESCs, it flies sluggish, another words,
sticks response is very slow, as if commanded by drunken pilot...

Interesting. One would expect i2c to be faster

Hi Eaton,
Did you make any PID and stick value adjustments for the I2c ESCs or just use the defaults?
Cheers,
Jim

Hi Jim

Good to see you here!

I used the default PID setting that worked fine with PWM ESC.
I can't believe why I2C was slower than PWM, and may need to adjust PID.

By the way, in order to adjust PID, should I upgrade to 1.24?, and
is there any issue to upgrade from 1.21 to 1.24?

Thanks
Eaton

Thanks! It is home made but not by me. A guy from Thailand made it for me and I bought it from him. I posted an ad here and he contacted me.

Sorry, these questions may have already been answered but I don't have enough free time to go through the 50 pages of posts...
Does this new free flight card have a baro or compass?
Is there a diagram showing what each chip on the board is?
Is it really plug and play or does it take some tweaking?
Do they have the software in English yet?

An ancient old UAVP PIC can still manage ~500Hz PID updates running I2C so most likely a poor bit banged I2C implementation and/or I2C timeouts which are too long. There have also been issues with Arm I2C hardware so bit banging is very common.

I may have missed it but which specific Arm is on the board?

I know you are smart, but just making sure you did not forget to swtich PWM to I2C in the PC app. Sometimes we are all forgetful...

It's hardware I2C2 from STM32F103C8T6.
Problem (?) likely is, there's silly i2c sensors on same bus.

Thanks. The I2C issues were in the STM Arm hardware and probably the LPC versions as well so maybe common IP.

I assume it will be the STM32103 on the Rabbit version where the part number is scratched out?
