?
No, wrong size an pinion gear missing.

Get these as tail motors : http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Model...581562615.html
They work

Maybe this motor can work as mainmotor only the pinion won't fit : http://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-Sy...4-p-54187.html

Hi guys I just wanted to let you know of another mod that I dont think I have seen anyone else do. I got the Carbon Fiber Tail Fin for the MSR by Xtreme Productions. I was ordering from there and it was 3.90 so I figured what the heck...

Its made for a round CF tail tube. But I made my own backing out of a peice of scrap plastic. It was very simple.

Here are some pictures.

k5nwz,
Fellow Texan, I would think that the V911 is a good way to get brave. Practice stick input to counteract the overcompensation of the gyro. As far as your Trex 450, the bigger they are...
could be lots of fixing. I would think that a 150/200 size FP like the Super FP or a Blade 120SR. I chose to go with two sizes of CP, genius and V120, to step up to 450 and above. I just keep them on beginner settings mostly, not going 3D often and keep the crashes on the SIM as much as possible.
my $.02

Fancy telling us exactly what "crapped out"?

Has anyone found out yet if any of the other DH TXs apart from the 9116 bind with the V911? They have the 9117 TX at Banggood for 19,75 which is only 7 or so cheaper than the 9116 TX, but that's always a spare motor, or a 5-pack of blades, or a 1/2 dozen skids, or a crate of cheap-but-yummy German beer

Cheers guys

In this thread 1st post : http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1710948

I can't be wrong, but the 9117 TX looks exactly like the 9116 TX:

that's kind of what I thought myself when I compared them, but the pic of the 9116 TX isn't very clear, so I wasn't sure if there was a slight difference accounting for the price difference. Maybe some Double Horse freak out there would be able to confirm it before I place an order, but to my untrained eye it sure looks as though you're right mystman.

Cheers

Most post I have read state that it is the same controller despite the different part numbers.it should work with the V911.I would post your question in the 9116 and 9117 threads, some of those guys have have the v911 also.

It takes a short set up of reversing rudder and elevator, and then you can program in rates for everything. It really makes the V/Y911 fly much better and in my case with the Y911 it flies faster forward now at the 100% rate on the controller. It binds exactly like the stock TX. Put the battery in the heli, turn on the TX and wait for a few beeps.
Thanks MKipness! That is cheap! I thought this hobby would be so expensive, I should have got in years ago

Years ago, it was expensive. Helicopters were almost exclusively glow engines which means noisy, expensive and dirty. They were also very expensive to crash and EVERY crash meant expensive repairs.

The first electric RC helicopter I saw, maybe 20 years ago or so had a big battery on the ground and a cable up to the heli. Couldn't go very far... I used to fly RC planes in my teens and again in my mid twenties.

I was actually one of the pioneers of electric planes in Norway. I put an electric buggy motor and battery on a Goldberg Gentle Lady glider. I also built a twin engine low wing aircraft (vaguely similar to a DC3) from scratch using the shortened wings from a crashed glider. Both aircraft flew quite well, but the batteries were heavy and there wasn't much power in reserve. Needed a good dive to pick up enough speed for a loop. The twin needed an airstrip, so that meant chucking it in the car and driving 30 minutes to the RC field. The Gentle Lady could hand launch and land on grass, so I could fly it on the local soccer field and it was quiet enough not to bother anyone. Now I fly my V911 off the back deck. Back then, nearly all RC aircraft were at least 3 - 4 foot wingspan and balsa covered with film, nylon or tissue. Only one other pilot at our club had an electric plane (after he saw mine). The first electric foamies were just starting to come out when I took a break from RC 20 years ago and we were just starting to see specialized (NiMH) battery packs and motors for larger aircraft.

Has anyone ever checked the maximum range of the V911's TX/RX combo or with a 9x?

I was just doing some testing myself. I assume by pushing the bind/range test button on my 9x makes it go into "range test" mode at 10% power. I went out 500 feet and could still control the V911 with the button pressed and my body between them (ie. I was facing backwards). I could not control it at 600 feet with my body between them though. Still, if this is truly at 10% power then I don't know why people complain about the FlySky range because full power would go so far that I can't easily test it.

I tested my 9x at full power out to 225 meters before I started loosing signal with my v911.

Hmm, that makes me think I'm not testing at 10% power. I'm not using the stock antenna though so that could be a difference. It's not a high gain antenna but the shielded cable connecting the transmitter to the antenna is much higher quality and shorter which gives me slightly more power than the stock setup.
