Personaly I find the sound quite cool.

in my experience, heli videos 'WITH sound (I just would like to know where MY sound goes when I upload the stuff to youtube .) are in GENERAL making the heli sound MUCH louder than it IS (going to be once "exerienced live" ...)

I just received a BNF (V911 heli only) from Banggood today, and it has all the latest updated. No guarantee that the full V911 package would have the latest upgrades, but I'd bet it is too since the chances have been out awhile now.

Yep, on my TX there is nothing there. When my workmate brings back the decent spec analyser we have at work I'll have a look at the tx output should be interesting.
In other news my v911 has suffered greatly today when I damaged the main drive gear, it still flies but makes a hell of a racket and it's binding a bit causing the shaft to vibrate up and down... bugger. O well I ordered some spare parts and then after that thought stuff it it's only $20 for a whole new heli

Tried to fly my new BNF V911 tonight (blue & white from Banggood) and it won't bind with the Tx.

The red LED on the PCB flashes fast, then will start flashing slower after the gyro initializes, but when I turn on the Tx the LED will not go solid - it just keeps flashing slow.

Can't remember ... but is there a sequence that needs to be done for the 1st time bind up ... or is my new BNF DOA? I cycled the throttle full range and back to zero a couple of times, and still not solid LED to indicate binding.

Have you tried turning on TX first?

Yes ... but the new BNF still won't bind.

My original black/orange V911 will bind either way (Tx on first or heli on first). The new BNF doesn't bind trying either way.

UPDATE - finally got it to bind. The trick was I turned on the Tx first with the throttle all the way up, then put the battery in the heli. After the LED went to slow flash, I put the throttle to zero and the LED went solid indicating a bind.

BUT ... the throttle will NOT start the motors. The right stick DOES make the servos move. So now looks like something is wrong with the motor control on the PCB (?). I tried turning the blades by hand with the throttle up to see if the motor would start, but nothing happens.

Any ideas ... sounds like she's half DOA to me.

Simply sounds like it's not arming the motor. (It is possible to get a bind and not an arming of the motor - I think!?)

-Try moving the throttle trim all the way down. (unlike brushless motors you don't get an arming 'jingle'!)
-Then test it, the motor should spool up.
-Once it's working move the trim up until just before it makes the motor start.

If the motor is still not working but servos are, try putting to full throttle and rotate the heli, if tail motor does spin, then I'd say the power MOSFET for the main motor is fried.

Just guessing, but that all I can think of.

Could also be a bad motor, try desoldering the motor and powering directly off the battery if it goes it will eliminate the motor as an issue.
EDIT: this would only be applicable if the tail motor is going and it sounds like isn't, or you have 2 bad motors pretty unlikely.

Oh yeah. I had a similar problem with an MSR 5-in-1 that I got from Horizon Hobby once. I could go into binding mode, bind the heli to the TX, and then arm the motor and fly it (note: without removing the battery first). But...after it was bound, if I powered on the heli and tried to make a connection to the TX, the motors would never arm! The servos moved just fine but the motors never armed...

So, all i'm saying is that it's very possible to get a "partially" broken board regardless of the brand. (At least HH sent me another one at no cost!)

Battery fully charged? I'm just throwing that in to eliminate battery being the cause.

Sounds like the safety feature is still enabled, preventing motor start?

The fact that you have to bind with the throttle at full sounds kinda fishy.

Definitely check that your throttle trim is not up too high. That will prevent the safety feature from turning off, allowing control of the main motor.

What you are just describing is the way how you bound Walkera helis when I got my first 2.4G model from them (I guess 4 or 5 years ago...) At that time there was nothing fishy about binding like this ...
