Is it really better? I don't have a T-REX 100S.

I understand the T-REX 100S is a crappy heli. They say the 100X is an improvement. I can say for sure that a $40 V911 is a great value and a Xieda 9958 gave me the toilet bowl effect.

I still can't figure out one of my transmitters. The resistor mod works fine on my first TX, but won't work on the second one. Search me...

I use the same copter and I think I fly the same manner/intensity.

Any idea what is going on? Have anyone noticed the same?

Thanks
are you "quick charging"? it is the number one cause of lost battery capacity, not low discharge as many think. anything less than one hour (1c) is reducing battery life. the only question is how much.

Thats because I was willing to pay more for both the parts and shipping. Flybars were $3.25 each and shipping for standard UPS was close to $20 I added in a couple of batteries as well so that the actual order was more than the shipping

Right now I am thinking that instead of a larger fix pitch heli I am going to step up to a large CP heli. Namely the Chaos 600 with belt driven tail. Quite the size step up I know, but it will be able to handle the wind conditions we seem to keep getting down here by the river.

Just a little size comparison between the two:

V911
  • Rotor 192 mm( 7.5")
  • Height 82 mm(3.2")
  • Weight Approx 32g(.07lbs)

Chaos 600
  • Rotor 1350mm ( 53")
  • Height 388/405mm(15.25 in/16 in)
  • Weight Approx 3000g(6.6 lbs)

It will probably take me the better part of 2 months to get all the parts and build it, unless I can make and sell a few more knives to stay within my budget. I will know for sure what I am doing once my income tax, GST, and WCB payments come in this week and early next week. If there is enough left over after all the bills are paid I will probably order the kit.

Sounds like you have the switch connected to the two outer terminals of the existing potentiometer.

One switch terminal should go to the junction of the two resistors and the other switch terminal should go to the center of the existing potentiometer.

The existing potentiometer should have ONLY one connection to each of the three terminals.

What does quick charging really mean?

as i said anything less than 1hr (1c). its a matter of personal choice. most are willing to sacrifice a bit of lipo life for quicker charge time. toy heli makers assume that and go for somewhat shorter life. with toy chargers that are little more than a resistor and diode it depends more on the voltage of the dc source than its current capability as hayabusa reminded me in the s107 thread.

personally i prefer to have many batteries and slow charge them overnite for a couple days fun and hundreds of cycles.

If you are using the stock V911 battery charger, then you use what you have and don't worry about it.

My guess is that you have changed the way you fly and the V911 has completed a breakin period. Or you modified something.
