Just seen that the extra main & tail rotors would cost you an extra 2.50 at BG, and it doesn't say that a charger is included... have to check with BG about that & get back to you.
Thanks, I wasn't looking to purchase it though, just thought I'd share it as I've never seen it before

I've been reading this thread, among others, for the past week or so and decided to order a Helizone Lightning Bird from Amazon. It showed up today... I don't really have any flying experience, besides some brief time on a couple of Brookstone coaxials that we bought for the kids (which fly reasonably well), and uncontrollable time on an Air Hogs Havoc (2011 model) that I received as a gift.

Back to the Lightning Bird/V911... I charged LiPo batteries and put some fresh AAs into the controller. Everything seemed to bind up properly, and away I went. After a couple of crashes, I'm able to hover reasonably well and land. There seems to be some forward, left sway and left rotation drift (probably not the correct terms), which electronic trimming seems to help, but I'm also in a small room (a converted attic) with short ceilings and slanted walls, so I'm not sure how much of it is the bird vs. the environment. I'm going to try in a larger room soon.

Here are my questions, please feel free to tell me to search again if there's an obvious answer in the thread that I have missed:

1. The left servo seems to twitch while the bird is on the ground idle. If I move the right stick ever so slightly to the right, it seems to stop, but sometimes it doesn't. If I extend the right stick to a max point, it also seems to stop intermittently, but the servo moves the arm as expected. When I turn off the TX, but leave the bird on, it consistently stops. I saw some references to what I think is this twitch in the thread, but I haven't seen a solution yet. Any thoughts on if it's normal? If not, is it probably something in the TX or on the RX board/servo? Should I return it for a replacement since I just got it?

2. I remember one or more posts regarding adjusting the arms for beginner/indoor flight, but can't find them now. I'll be flying indoors in small rooms (no gyms) for the foreseeable future, so slow and steady is probably the way to go for now. Can someone give me a link to one of these posts and/or wiki entries?

Thanks for all of the info, it's been an entertaining and informative thread. I think I've caught the bug

- Lawrence
Fix both swasplate arms in the inside hole of the servo and adjust them to hover well. You probably won't be able to fly backward. It is possible that you have a small weighted flybar. Old flybars weight were 6 mm. (5/16) long, the new one , smaller, make the WL911 less stable. if so, add more weight to the flybar end by fixing electrical tape around, try 3 to 5 exact turns. Cut the extra width. Check the flybar balance on a pin.

That price makes the H911 at much better choice for new 911 flyers.

I appreciate any insight you can offer.
Banggood's US site has the V911 tail motor.

If you click on the US flag the stock status updates for the US warehouse and the price+shipping updates also from US$2.75 to US$5.53.

CNC parts

Has anyone tried the CNC upgrade parts for the V911? I see this upgrade http://www.rcmodelpart.com/wl-toys-v...et-s_p197.html
wondering if anyone has installed this and if it is a good option?

After several weeks of having so much fun with v911, i wonder :

a - what are the benefits of using turnigy 9x over stock tx if I only use it for v911 ? Is there better handling or something else ?

b - what are the advantages of 6ch v922 heli (v911 flybarless version from wl toys) over 4ch v911 despite the inverted flight that seems to be promoted in lots of 6ch heli advertising ?

I asked this really out of curiosity and posibility to upgrade later, not trying to start a flame over turnigy 9x or 6ch heli user.

They just heavy bling in my opinion. Try a search, and you find some detail about them. I would go with a fish eye swash, and carbon shaft from banggood.

Tail motor changing in the V911

Hi people! A couple of weeks ago i got a V911 and i love this little insect. Yesterday "figting" (wont do it anymore) with a s107 the tail motor got damaged. Im trying to repair or replace the tail motor, but its really stuck in its place, so i wonder if there's any technique to remove the motor without damaging it. Thanks!

That's the RCG effect, although $3 isn't the end of the world. You should have seen the price hike on the JXD Drift King. It was about $23 a week ago. $38 now.

Blame RoboHeli. He wrote a good review on the Drift King here. LOL
