Never mind, I see your other post says the Scorpion 4035-560. Even on 14s it would be a lot of power. The YEP 120 could do that for $90. Maybe 6kw + a little.
Yes, the FETs on the YEP 120 will go to 140amps but I don't know about the ESC's PC etching...that's what needs to be tested in the long run IMHO

Hi guys,
I plan on running this in the 90mm flyfly sabre. More then enough room. It I am looking for efficient thrust production for about the same thrust as the 90mm 12 blade

I am thinking Of running 1250kv on 6S. Your thoughts?

I think just the weight penalty of the 120mm system, will overcome any increase in efficiency if any a all.

Yes, you would have more thrust, but for the same power level your efflux speed will be so much lower that I don`t think the performance will be there. What speed are you looking for on the top end?

I am not going for Speed. Going for flight-time and sound. 100-120kph would be fine. The FlyFly f-86 Airframe kis quite dragy so i'm not interested in speed.

Is anybody currently flying with this CS 120??? Im thinking about putting one in an Aeronaut Rafale , maybe as an hybrid fan (keep the rotor and replace the rest with something of better quality).

Ive done the same. Kept the blades. Machined up a collet type adaptor. Modified the rclander ali housing, and made my own carbon fibre tube. Havent flown it yet but first run up went much better than my first attempts with the plastic housing. Wil post some pics soon.

I am using the hobbyking delux 160 amp and what a dissapointment! It gets very hot even after 30 seconds of running at 115 amps. It even cuts to half throttle, I think it is a thermal protection. Using 12s. Anyone else have this experience with this esc?

I have used the hi-model ice 120 a few times before and it works really good. Wonder if anyone has tested there 180. Or do you think thr 120 will do. Any good reliable alternatives?

I've gone past 120 amps on the hi-model or YEP (at HK) and it's runs really nice without airflow and will run even better with it.

That's good to hear. Thanks for the info on the YEP with 14s. Going to have to make a new battery harness for 14s instead of 12s : )

Too bad they don't sell the rotor separate.

HK sells the 90mm rotor separately, how soon before they start selling the 120mm rotor???

What amps do you think are safe on the scorpion 560 motor. I hit around 114A on 12s pack and motor was warm. Wonder if 14s would be ok!

That's some decent thrust, that'll push around a good number of aircraft...

I wonder if the YEP can go higher with lower voltage. Say 10S. I know that HK derates their SS line of speed controllers if you run them at their max rated voltage.
