...well, maybe post a few here and there. The suspense is killing me. No need for explanation, just some teaser photos.

I have cut my kit tonight and will begin assembly tomorrow morning after I cut the ply parts. It was getting too late to cut that run tonight. Pics and comments will be posted after the build is complete.

Moving on the build of the King

I finished cutting the ply parts I needed this morning early and began building the plane. Had a few interuptions with my son but was able to really get going on the build. I was able to get the Fuselage built, battery hatch done and the planking/sheeting on and pre-sanded. I also was able to get the nose block on and sanded to shepe. I am pleased with how this plane has come together. Total time to get to this point now is roughly 5-6 hours. Here are some pictures of the build thus far.

It looks good, keep building!

I wish I could see it fly at NEAT but I won't make it....

Thanks. So far I have not really found a lot of issues with the build and it is going together fast enough. Tomorow will be installing electronics and covering.

The third spot in the servo tray suggests you are still considering the retracts you had on the early design, but I don't see any other structures that seem related to installing them. While they would probably be impractical, it would be very cool. Looks awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product and get my hands on one.

You are correct about the retracts. The battery tray going back to the windshield former is a ply plate that would hold 2 1/2A steering mounts. These would become the mechanics for the retracts. However all of that would need to be installed and tight before sheeting the forward windshield deck. At this point I wanted to get the prototype done and tested. Later I will post a picture of the retract mounts

Ready to cover

Today was sort of unproductive but I did get a lot of little details done. The sponsons are now complete. I was able to get the front and rear blocking on and sanded to shape. I got the motor mounted and pod planking done. Ailerons are built. I had to recut them because of the wood being too hard.
Servo door mounts also had to be recut because I couldn't find them. Found them after getting the new ones installed.
Tomorrow will be the final sanding and covering. I had hoped to be finished with the covering today but had taken time off last night. Looks like the maiden flight will be on Wednesday is all goes well tomorrow. Here is the completed airframe ready to sand and then cover
