I've never used an outrunner before so can someone idiot-proof this for me quick? Are you guys using any sort of "shock absorbing" spacer/washer between the motor mount and motor? Just loctite blue? Stock flush-head screws?

Do I have this mounted correctly?

Are there any issues with vibration loosening the screws? Do you use loctite or anything? Those screws aren't very long...

Just let them in the "bed" they were sold with, and glue them with 3m90

Got a question? Ive been into modies (Gliders) for sometime now and have a Hyperion HP-GS2218-10 1337 KV that's brand new but was going to take back, then I ordered a ZII.
was wondering if this motor will fly this wing with out FPV stuff installed. I do plan on going that route down the road but first just want to figure out the flying wing first.
Have been looking at FPV setups and leaning towards the fatshark? Any input on a good setup that wont break the bank for FPV use in and around urban hell such as central florida

Goggles are great, but not really recommended when you are starting FPV. There is a certain amount of orientation that you have to become comfortable with as you transition from line of sight to FPV. The first few times you will want to immediately look back at the plane, which you can't do with goggles.

I would recommend you start with a screen or laptop. Once you move to goggles, you will want one attached as a backup and for spectators anyway, so no money lost.

As for the motor, it should work. You could even use it for FPV with a 9x6 or 9x7 prop. It would fly great, though it wouldn't be screaming fast.

i started with goggles, it was perfect. no way would i waste money on a crappy screen if i knew i was going to replace it in a week or 2.

i launch LOS, get a bit of altitude and pull the goggles on. no problem.

sometimes when coming in for a landing in really bad visibility or weather i will transfer back to LOS, but it is not really nessesary. i jsut find my landings are more accurate LOS because i judge speed and distance better.

You put a 6S battery on your ZII. You're the exception, not the rule!

aww come on.... fatsharks are just too good. they do not blue screen, you do not have to worry about sun on the screen, small, lightweight, easy..... inbuilt receiver, if you can afford them they really are the best bet.
IMO lol
