Started the paint work.
Sprayed the white yesterday. The semi-gloss looks perfect. I didn't want a super glossy finish like on my clear coat jets.
The red is a but more glossy but not over the top shiny.

May get up early before church tomorrow and run down to the shop and paint the blue.

Hatch is a little behind the rest of the plane as far as finishing goes. But being a separate piece it's no problem to paint whenever. Real happy with the way the canopy & hatch came out. My first time to try and blend them together.

Included some pics of my canopy buck. Used MDF instead of foam this time. It's the way to go. ...if you have some power sanding tools.
I stacked 6 lams of 1/2" MDF together glued with Titebond. Laid out the top & side profiles and sawed it down as much as I dared by hand and with a circular saw. Then locked down the orbit on my DA sander and roughed it in with some #36. Fine tuned it with some #80 and hit it with the first coat of primer. Couple more sand downs with #180 and then one last pass with #400.

Got all this done in one day at work. Couldn't have moved along that fast with a foam/glass buck.
Being kinda large-ish, I brought it home to pull the canopy. ...under the watchful eye of my wife.

Julian, I just noticed something in the 4th pic. Do you have an opening in the splitter, just before the fan? A small opening right in front of the spinner, will allow you to use the fan to make the fuselage a low pressure vessel, for cooling. And after flight, you can run the fan at low to cool things down. A couple of small NACA ducts in the nose will provide a high flow.

Was planning on cutting it out before I mount the fan permanent. Don't think inlets ducts will be needed with all gaps in the gear doors.
