Hi Boogie,

I am off a few days during Christmas, I may be able to get time on the design of the solid model for the Mig19. All thats left is to get the wings corrected then cut the section formers then set it to AutoCAD for detailing.

Cheers,
Eric B.

Good deal Eric.

I'm realizing CAD is not the wiz-bang process I had thought. Been trying to teach myself how to work SketchUp. Slow going.
Getting to point where I think I'll have to spend some money on decent software to have the kind of success I'm looking for.

Anyhoo, the Coug is keeping me busy.
Back when I built the F105, it was a toss up between the Cougar and the T-chief. Then the MiG idea came up and when it didn't materialize in time for the winter build, seemed like a gooda' time as any to start this one.

...I'll be lookin' forward to your progress.

I tried Sketchup, not the easiest but it is affordable where the easier ones cost $1000's per copy. Just gotta keep at it.
My work has been taking a lot of my time, the company does not want to hire anyone so the work load is ~3times what it normally is. After a doys worth of that kind of load all I want to do is just shut down. At least for Christmas I have vacation to do what I want to do and modeling is high on the list...

Merry Christmas,
Eric B.

I gave up on Sketchup. put something in front of my face in the physical world and I'll figure it out. put it on the screen and apparantly, my brain turns to mush. LMAO.

if I was smart enough to figure the program out, the Jaguar gear would have done ages ago. as it stands, I doubt it'll ever get done.

Getting close to wrapping up the airframe construction.
Wings & stab glued in and after prepping the formers and stringers, started planking the fuse. Gonna try and sheet as much area as I can and keep the strip planking to a minimum.

This part will go pretty fast.
Cutting out an fitting the gears doors will slow me down some but on this plane they won't be that complicated.

It would be even nicer, if it didn't have all that beady stuff in it...

Thanks very much guys. ...you too Fuzz.

Airframe is 99.9% built. I need to add the nose cone (still more foam Fuzz, hehehe) and she'll be ready for spackle.

I met my 4 lb weight goal. ...and then some.
The bare wood frame weighs in at 23.9 oz.
Weighed all the parts and she's at 4.35 lbs so far. The glass & paint will add at least 6 oz minimum.

That seemed heavy to me at first then I had to remind myself this is a large jet for a 70mm, close to 90mm jet size.
41" WS x 46" L while the RCLander 70mm foamy Cougar is 35" x 39".

On the plus side, the inlets will be very scale sized.

Thats about right, Julian. My RBC Panther is just under 4.25#. But, that does not have retracts. And the Cougar has more wing area. Both static and dynamic.
