Beautiful work as usual Julian. And I won't hold it against you for using some foam.

Thanks guys.

Bogged down in the retract mounts. Two down, one to go.
Lots of interlocking pieces, makes you appreciate laser cut CAD parts.

Bring that thing up here, Julian. I have a .223 S&R with a foam seeking scope! Looks real nice, Julian. I found a kit, in my archives. I'm keeping it quiet for now. But it's "stick" and I may enlarge it enough for two 70 or 66mm fans. My close estimate, gives a 75-80" fuselage, to keep the inlets scale. (hint: originally designed for catapult free flight)

Thanks guys.
Interested to see what you've got up your sleeve Fuzz.

Got the ducts made up and dry fit in the fuse.
My first set of ply ducts. Used Fuzz' arrow shaft method, piece of cake. Amazed at how light they are and super rigid. Hard to say which is easier, glass or ply. Glass ducts are hi-tech of course but I love the old school look of these wood ones.

Stab dry fit to the fin. Getting close to sheeting.

Very impressive J,

I also agree the ducts look very lite and actually the whole build looks lite weight. Your cutting skills are amazing. The plans you have been using remind me of the balsa stick Hell Cat kit I built as a kid. It was my favorite Christmas gift when I was 12 and took me months to make; it hung for years in my room.

I'm honored, Julian! You need to build the Cutlass.

Thanks guys.

It may look lite Jeff but I weighed all the components today and I'm at 3.7 lbs.!!
Only thing left out of that is the sheeting/finishing, cockpit details and push rods.
Looks like my 4 lb goal is shot.
I still have a lot of lightening holes to make, that will cut an ounce or two.

My power set-up should make an easy 1200w so it will still fly fine. Plus, a lot of wing area on this one.

Fuzz, you keep trying to push those F7Us on me.
It's in the build queue. ...someday.

Stop helping Eric.

LOL. you can never have too many sanding blocks, whether home made or purchased. I've got a box full of them that were made, used once or twice, then sit around waiting for a rainy day.
