Maiden day - every bit as good as I hoped!
Well, got my servos sorted.
All I can say after running 7 batts through the SU is wow! Winds were not at all optimal for a maiden, blowing at leats 20kph with gusts of 30kph, but the SU handled it very well indeed. Most impressed. It flew even better than I had hoped for, right out of the box. It really inspires confidence, and feels very precise and I felt right at home immediately. I felt able to fly it close and low almost immediately, soemthing I never really felt with the Parkmaster. Rollers were very good, a little different to my 32"yak, but I could run them fairly similarly - bit different with timing on the SU. Hover was good, but interesting in the strong wind! I can't wait for a decent day to really trim it out. Just need to learn the plane now.The 1600's worked a treat, set full back. I'm running cg just aft of 120, but I"d like to get to 140. May rearrange my velcro. I got a pretty massive roll rate out of it. Motor was hot on 11.4.7, so slowed the flying down for this video. Video is of flight 7 of the day. I may swap to 10x4.7 tomorrow. And yes, as we all know, it certainly loves flying inverted!! I enjoyed every miniute of flight. I'm thinking of selling a couple of old bashers to have another kit on hand. They certainly have designed a winner here. Most impressed!!!
