What Planes would you like to see on the slope?

Hughes H-1 Racer

I think this is one of the most beautiful planes ever made. Sadly, Jim Wright (made this replica) had a fatal emergency crash landing last month while flying over Yellowstone.

This is a plane that I think would look great on the slopes. The wings may need to be stretched, but it should retain it's streamline look.

What planes would you guys like to see as slopers?

I would like to see a 747 type plane. . . Hobbyflight had one for Electric power but they don't seem to be open anymore.

I believe there's only one epp biplane out there. . biplane would be cool .. .

I always thought about taking the morris hobbies dragonfly replica powered version for .25 IC and sloping it without the engine . . it has four wings like a dragon fly. . . . gotta cool look to it. and people would freak . . .

Yup, that's a beautiful plane alright. Looks like it would make a good sloper too.

I've always liked the Dauntless. I haven't seen any on the local slopes yet, but I'm sure someone has done one. I actually bought a set of plans for this plane a while back, but decided to do a FW-190 next. Maybe I'll do the Dauntless after that.

Russ.

I'd love to see someone come out w/ EPP bird models. Big guys, like albatross and such - and be able to devise a multiservo system to control an/dihedral and partial folding of wings for movement - no ailerons.

[EDIT] - Ok, I totally misread the thread title.

I'd like to see a squadron of F16s dressed in full thunderbird scheme

PSS firefighting air tankers i.e. Canadair "Super Scooper", P2YV, DC-4, C-130( as long as the main spar doesn't snap in two!) or especially an S-2. They all would have to be able to do air drops on fellow pilots on the ridge! The California Dept. of Forestry S2's are sporty planes that have bright paint jobs. Would be a great project.........how about it Carl M?

How about his one?

It'll fit in my trunk a lot easier than my M60!

Wow, what's left? the Brits are running Vulcans, 13" P51s, SARO Princess, and there are B17/B29/B24s galore on the US slopes if the magazines are any indication!

I have always felt that drag/slope are almost mutually exclusive; you may as well be flying a parachute, so biplanes, while published as far back as the 60s, would not be all that exciting on the slope it would seem. That might explain the popularity of jets and such on the slope, but it would be a LOT of fun to run a Mars with about 2 gallons on board for all to see!

Aw, crud. I was just about to scratch build one. I'd scaled and printed the three view with templates, and was going to cut the fuse when I got back from Texas.

LW I bought one of the small rubber band launched versions. It flys like crap. I've seen the video of the bigger one it flys ok.

I am dreaming here. Not talking about what's out. What about a DS version? I'll bet this design doesn't like to fly slow at all.
