Great job, both on the design and the flying!

Flies just like mine, goes exactly were you point it. No problems with thrust changes. My motor has no side or down thrust and it's just perfect. Thanks for the great design.

Hi Ken
How does the Stingray fly compared to the Me-163.

Better manners all the way around. It does not twist out in high G manuvers, and much lighter wing loading. 98 more sq. in. wing area with similar all up weight.

Hands down a better machine than the Me-163, and better for combat. But it is in a different class al together.

Thanks Brett,

You won't be disappointed.

Had some time over the holidays, so I painted the original similar to the others. Found a color called Tutti-Frutti and had to use it with the Cobalt Blue.

I finally got all the parts cut out (using 6mm Depron) and the wing is gluing--should be ready by tomorrow.

The ailerons are about 1.5"; do they need to be that large or will 1.25" be enough?

Y'all have taken all the pretty paint schemes so I'm just gonna smear on whatever I can find on the shelf.

Don,
She really flys nice with those ailerons. Set up throws as spec for high and low rates, and get the CG spot on, and she is a dream to fly. The guy I sold my original back up plane had it out for the first time a couple of weeks ago and you'd of thought he had a season on it under his belt. Everyone thats flown it so far are thoroughly tickled with its good habits.

We won't feel bad if you copy the paint scheme. That bold checker pattern on the bottom is just the bomb. I don't think I would do them any different if I build more of them for myself.

Motors, motor mounts, prop savers and adapters, ESC's, servos and connectors available from the SEMFF official source www.strongrcmotors.com. I also have props and batteries but they are not on the website. Send an email if you are interested in those.

Ken, you mean like this? I copied the design for my second Stingbat, the one that won't fly, and I love it. Very see-able from the ground.

WOW! Nice work Ken! I haven't had much time for flying or poking around the forum in the last 6 or 8 months; hoping to get more flying in for 2012. Looks like we'll have to try some stingrays for combat in 2012 here in Indy. Maybe this year we can finally get am Indy/Michigan meet put together; you SEMFF guys are a great bunch.

Thanks Greg! Nice to hear from you. It would be cool to get down your way, even if getting our group together does not happen, I could make a trip myself.

Don, get the leading edge shaped in correctly (shown on plans), and it will give you awesome results.

Ken, have you given any thought to doing a 5 layer fuselage for the Stingray ( I know that it techinically already has 7 layers )like the ones on the VLF WWII models? It would be nice to conceal the Rx and ESC in the fuselage with access doors like your WWII designs had.

Also, you're welcome here any time; come on down! (might to wait 'til spring though. ).
