Well the flight reports are great. The plane flies as expected with the glow conversion. As far as the video we have it is still no joy. Going to find a different camera and get some new video that we can hopefully get downloaded.
Don't give up on me yet.

Pulls out of a hover great.
Weighs around what the electric set-ups are coming out at depending on what stuff they use.
I will try and get some pics as I don't have any of it all put together.

bump. Did you ever get a video? I am thinking of doing a glow conversion on either one of my 48" planes.

JC, first of all I want say a huge thank you for this thread, and I cant wait to see the rlight videos. I'm wanting to do this conversion also, but I already have an OS 91fx 2 stroke I need to use. The 91 weighs 3 oz. more than the Saito you used, I'm afraid that would be too much extra weight on the nose. What do you think of that engine in this plane combo?

I think some people would not be happy about the glow conversion, however, I think its pretty cool. I plan on converting my 48" Vyper over, but leaning towards its pattern side.

Video of AJ Slick 59" on Glow

Any luck on the video, I wish I saw this post before ordering a GP Eagle 580. I want a 59" Slick but not ready to jump into the electrics. Thanks for the build thread I believe this will be my next project thinking of putting the OS 95 four stroke in it, any thoughts.

Sorry still no luck on the video.
The Saito will be a little heavier than my .82 sized on but should be alright. Just make sure you reinforce the motor box good since the .91 will shake more also.

The GP 42 has an air bleed carb that is better suited for trainers and sport planes.

About the same, it also is a plain bearing, air bleed carb. These are very cheap engines, more for the sport flyer than 3D.
Your Thunder Tiger pro 46, or your OS FX, ax line are the real power houses.
What plane are you planing on using it on and what style of flying are you going to do?
Still if thats all you have then of course a man gotta use what he has.
