The first thing that needs to be done is to get the measurement from the front of the cowl to the firewall. Then we get the measurement from the front former to the firewall. We take these two and add them together and it should come to 240mm from the long side of the box. Make sure you measure to the firewall edge and not the overlap of the box sides.
You then need your measurement from your engine you are going to use. You will need to have it mounted or placed on the mount that you are going to use so you can get the total length of the mount to the thrust washer or spinner back plate. You subtract this measurement from the 240mm total to get the amount that needs to be removed from the box. In my case it was 85mm from the front former where the mark would be. Make a mark on the long side of the box then measure the distance from that mark to the firewall. This will be the measurement that you will use to make the line around the box to cut it. You will measure from the firewall back all the way around to keep the right thrust that was built in at the factory. Ok enough with all the type. Now I can show in short type with pics exactly what I mean.
