Impressive. Very nice! I'll put this on my wish list.

Dave & Tim- What kind of flight time are you getting off a battery? What would you say is a realistic max wind speed this could be flown in without problems? Thanx.

Cheers,

Mark

We're flying in 5-7 mph wind regularly. When it gusts to 20-25 like in that video with the flag falling over, etc, it gets a little hard.

If all you do is hover, flight time is 8-10 minutes. If you're flying around, the flight time goes way up because the blades are doing some of the work, not just the battery. Most people are getting 10-15 minutes.

Re flight time

Bought myself an X350 and been flying around doing some FF cruising in 5 to 10 mph wind. I find it uses about 680 mah in 7 min on average, which allows a 20% reserve to save battery life. I believe that I get closer to 9 min with a 20% reserve when just hovering indoors, cause the tail motor is inactive, pulling less juice. This is with the stock brushed motors, bet flight times would be better with the brushless setup.

Thanx guys. Sounds good. Calm days are very, very rare in El Paso, but 5 - 7 mph winds are more frequent. Definitely putting this on my wish list, after a good flight sim and controller.

Cheers,

Mark

Starting new threads when one already exists clutters up the forum. Guys tend to follow certain threads they access from the My RCGroups button above and don't necessarily look at every new thread put out there.

I really would not fly in more that 7mph or so. I have been getting 10 minute flights. I have been working on hovering maneuvers more than just flying around.
