Maybe even a "bolt" type design. Small but with powerful high kV motors capable of lifting some weight. Components well protected in the frame.
Maybe 6 of these http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=6634

There's one thing I'd like to see in many future frame designs. Tiny holes for receiver antennas. Preferably in the protection plate that sits on top of the electronics, right next to the nylons spacers so I can use a cable tie to hold the antenna and just feed the receiving part through the tiny hole or something. I use FrSky and they usually come with diversity antennas. It's a bit of a pain to route these around small frames when only a tiny part of the antenna is actually used.

I actually use drinking straws on all my quads to keep the antennas perfectly straight. I just hot glue these to the frame, feed the antenna through and only the receiving part of the antenna pokes out the end of the drinking straw. Works very well for me.

Cant cut it off ! its all the exposed top part of the motor shaft so that wouldnt work as there would be no shaft left for the prop

Regarding the KKBlackboard i have it in my classic bambu same setup as yours Minsoo Kims 2.5 and it flys just great WiseDuck.

Maybe mine's crap or it's my settings. But there's nothing unusual about this setup. I'll just use something else instead, I like Multiwii boards more anyways!

I was wondering what was going on with your KKboard as well.
Performance wise I even prefer the KKboards, its nearly impossible to set up wrong.
I assume you are using counter rotating props on your tri?
They can fly with 3 of the same direction, though that indeed causes yaw drifting a lot.
The smaller they get, the easier it is to get the settings wrong though,
bigger ones are more forgiving because their weight dampens things.
These small buggers can easily start fidgeting.

How did you go about setting your tri up?

I just tune up the roll gyro so far it starts to show the typical waddling during forward flight,
then dial it down VERY slowly until it fades out enough for me to fly comfortably.
For pitch I just do the same, only I observe what it does when transitioning out of forward flight.
If it starts pumping its tail rapidly (and loudly) its too tight.
As for yaw.. well as long as the tail tracks straight in banked cornering, that's where it needs to be.
Yaw is easiest of all I think, anywhere between 40 and 70% is fine.

Id like some multiwii boards, but frankly the ACC/MAG/all that noise be damned.
Gimme a gyro only multiwii for 30 bucks and im sold.

I use one counter rotating prop. That's another thing, it kept yawing left or right, I had to trim that a lot too. With the Crius MWC board it was rock solid with default settings, altho I needed to tune it a bit to make it more agile.

I'll try a Multiwii board again, I'll just give this board to a friend of mine, I have another KK board here that I got from HK because I thought this one was dead. So yeah, he can have it.

If it drifts, crank up the pot?

And heh, wish I was your friend.

I do believe I tried that, but it's already at the point where it will oscillate if a bit of wind drops by. :P Well, it's just a 15 dollar board, so who cares? I ordered a frame from GLB a month ago, still hasn't shipped, if it arrives he can have that too. I want more multirotor users in this club here, I'm the only one right now!

Hahah, careful what you wish for!
They already call me the quad doctor at my club,
Ive had to tweak and test 5 "sick" multicopters for them already.

The sound of 3 multicopters whizzing around is VERY rewarding though.
