Antenna tracker ideas

I was hoping someone could post a few close up pix of their home made antenna tracker Pan and Tilt setups. I have bought a fairly weighty 18DBi patch, and am waiting on RV to release their tracker. I was hoping to build something to be ready for it.
I have already assembled the Readymade RC tracker, which would be fine for one of my smaller 14 DBi patches, but its a bit lightweight for the larger patch.
I have got a pair of really powerful winch servos to drive the thing, so I just need some ideas about P+T for a big flat panel.
Cheers
Frank

For solid but pricey, look to ServoCity.

Thanks for your input Rob, Ian.
I was hoping to see some of the home made ideas, but I do like the servo city product. I know Kelly has a badass tracker that swings a huge grid, but thats just not for me.
I checked the bigger Servocity one out recently. Couldn't get the link to work just now. Think Servocity might be ofline atm. Might re visit it with the intent of using it as a base for my bigger servos. I have one each of these bad boys.

This is what I am starting with. It hasnt been deployed yet as I'm still waiting on the RV Tracker to be released. It will probably work in its present form but I want something a bit more robust. Its ok for the lighter panel, but the big one is over 1200g, and more with the home made counterweight.
Keep the ideas coming guys!
Cheers

We were down for a short time last night for server maintenance, but we're back up! Sorry for the inconvenience. Let us know if there are any questions we can answer regarding our pan and tilt systems.

Agreed! At least add the rest of the world to your website for ordering.

Hi Guys,
Glad you mentioned it! We realize this has been a frustration with our international customers for a while. In order to better serve to you, we are currently working on a new shopping cart that will allow customers from all over the world to checkout through the standard cart as the US and Canadian customers currently do, instead of processing through our international order form.

For that panel antenna, I would suggest using an SPG785A-BM pan system and an SPG785A-5.0 tilt system as shown in the below image.

To connect the two, you will need to purchase an endcap (found on the SPG785A-5.0 page) and (4) 5-40 x 3/8" pan head phillips screws. You may also find our 90 degree aluminum plate useful for the tilt system (which will need to be mounted with (4) 5-40 x 3/8" pan head phillips screws).

One of our customers documented his build on a very similar system which can be found here http://www.fpvmanuals.com/2011/05/28...rom-servocity/

Hi ommadawn,
I was able to find your order in the system and see which Pan and Tilt system you purchased. Thank you for your order, but unfortunately the system is only compatible with standard size Hitec servos. Since that is the case, you will be unable to modify the unit to fit the larger sized HS-765HB and HS-785HB servos. I am glad you posted so we can resolve this issue before your order ships. I have given your information and order to our Tech Department and they will be contacting asap via email to discuss further.
In the meantime, please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Thanks ServoCity,
I emailed your Tech guys and am waiting on a quote for the complete system as shown above. I put a hold on the original order. Perhaps you can do a credit against the new setup.
It looks like just what I am looking for.
Hope to hear back soon
Cheers
Frank

At this moment I'm working on the coding for a tracker using a arduino and a couple of xbee's. Yes I know more stuff in a plane but I figured give it a go, but hey it works.
