Wanted
cheap engines to rebuild for fun

I am looking at learning how to rebuild engines. Id like to finds some cheap engines that I can rebuild and get running so I can learn about how it all works. It like both single cylinder and twins. I'm a very hands on guy who is looking to learn about something new.

Go to a swap meet. You'll find all sorts of used engines in various conditions for little to no money.

Even if you get an engine for free, it ain't gonna be cheap to rebuild. Pistons, rings, liners, bearings, etc all cost a fair amount of money. Just so you know........

You can get a great amount of experience by picking up and fixing weedwackers when people throw them out in your neighborhood. Those engines are almost identical to the gas engines r/c people use. If you get one running, you could donate it to someone who wants to use it.

Back in the day, they made mod kits to convert weedwackers to r/c use.

Just an idea.

THanks for all the info guys. I know its going to cost some money but learning does cost $$$ so why not spend it on something I like to do.
